No, it is an item that you can find (Very rarely) in the game..

Go to lion's arch and sell it to a level 20 who needs it to make his Fissure of Woe armor. They use that kind of stuff there: Globs of ectoplasm, monstrous claws/eyes, rubies(I have two), sapphires. I assume that it's used to make the Elementalists' headgear, sapphire for water's eye, ruby for flame's eye, maybe an emerald for all-seeing eye.

I got to the forgemaster in Fissure of Woe once with my Ele/Ranger. To make elementalist gears, there is no use for sapphire, ruby or emerald.

I would Hang on to it, ecto and shards were implemented before the fissure armor, so those ruby's and saphires may be for future armor. I'd be willing to buy, but you'll probably have sold it by the time I get on tonight.

only ectoplasm and obsidian shards are used for underworld or fissure armor, not monstrous claws or fangs or rubies or ne of that stuff. It has no use yet, but in the future (how far in the future nobody knows) it will have some use most likely. After all they are adding 2 additional explorable areas down the road as well. Just hold em. Yes they eat space. So maybe try and consolidate. If you have rubies and sapphires, trade the rubies for sapphires so u only take up 1 spot. But keep that stuff. It'll be worth it later. Or trade it to me. I'll hold onto it. : ) IGN = scott silverblade. But to answer ur question, it has no use right now.
