Since the last Guild Wars update (June 1), several pet skills are completely broken:
- As discussed in this thread, Feral Lunge only always causes 3 seconds of bleeding, where it should be 21 seconds for rank 12 in Beast Mastery.
- As discussed in this thread on gwonline, Revive Animal recovers much, much less health than it is supposed to.
Has anyone noticed other pet skills that don't work correctly anymore? It seems that these skills now always behave as if you have rank 0 in Beast Mastery.
Of course, all of this doesn't help rangers, and beast masters in particular, at all, having a hard time enough already in being taken seriously. Feral Lunge in particular has always been the most important skill for beast masters, and now that these skills are broken there really is no point anymore in bringing a pet...
Are all pet skills broken since last update?

Interesting.
However, my poor lizard has been stuck in his cage ever since the desert missions (i've finished the game) because he wasn't a worthy meat shield.
He only goes for a walk when i'm escorting noobs through old ascalon.

Yea I noticed... I think they are refining the beast attack skills, cause they dont seem to do much of anything beyond base as they should... even at level 20 my pet is OK but not great... I decided to try a different one and level it up and found the same thing...
I'm working on getting that spider from the underworld to see what it can do. but my instincts are its all the pets atm. till its fixed... They just do the base dmg and it increases with leveling... but other then that the extra skills dont seem to do much extra.
Attached is a base table for pets from charmed base levels... this may help you when choosing a pet to use to complement your build. Source, Prima Stratagy Guide, which I Highly recomend. it has all sorts of good material in it for chapter one... At least for what we have so far in the game...

I wish they can eliminate the need to carry Charm Animal as a skill in order to bring a pet. Comforting animal as a skill is useful, but charm animal? Come on, what's the point of taking Charm Animal anyway since there's no way for us to charm another animal without talking to tamer first. It just takes a valuable skill slot.
Casadore
or make charm animal and comfort animal the same type thing so if you have a pet you rez and heal it with charm and if you dont then you get a pet by using it...
Star Ranger
For the ability to have your pet with you, you have to pay some in-game price. In this case it is the requirement to equip Charm Animal if you want your pet to come along. If you want the benefit of they pet, you have to pay the price.
