I remember back in beta when eveyrone used to be smart, fun, polite, open to new ideas.
After today, im giving up on it completely.
Why?
"OMG! No teamspeak! LOL YOULL NEVER WIN!"
"LOL! no W/M!! LOL WTF! BYE!"
"OMGZORZ LOL! NO ELEITE SKILZ!! LOL WTF OMG ROLLERSKATES!"
It goes on and on..
I was in a Spike group today trying to win the HoH and this one element refused the team's suggestion to camp the base in the Obelisk/presit deathmatch. insted of simply suggesting his own idea, he said "LOL we'll DIE instantly like that!" and TOOK off to the other base.
I tried healing him like mad, and others had to follow him.. and needless to say, we got raped like mad. Of course, I asked him if he was a Diablo2 player.. and he said yes, no doubt.
Thats not the first time.. a majority of the Guild Wars people are like that.. if it doesnt go THEIR way, EVERYONE sucks.
now on to the overall community..
Is it possible to go into a town without seeing, "WTS" over and over and over in the All channeL? And if you look, the TRADE channel is barely in use!
And if you ask them politely to stop, they say "OMG FUX YOU!" and spam it as much as possible.
And dont even BOTHER getting into a PT for PVE.. its not worth the trouble.
im not just makeing this a rant.. I do have a request.
Please, people, save the community while you can! You're not the uber noober, since this is a TEAM game!
nonetheless.. im uninstalling and waiting a year or 2 untill the "uber 1337" people leave.
This community sccccrrreeeaaaaammmss Diablo2 for right now..
Please, try to act mature..
P.S, im not saying that EVERYONE is like this, once in a while I'll find good people. Its just not often...
Guild Wars community is crumbleing to an abyss

This is what happens when a game is released to the public.
When it was in beta only the people who were really interested were playing but now that it's on shop shelves it's available to every idiotic person with $50.
There are probably just as many mature people playing now as there were before, but they're far outnumbered by the idiots.
Having said that, I actually haven't had much trouble with the community at all. Maybe it's because of the time of day that I play. I'm Australian and play mostly during my evening/night.
I think I've only had one experience of someone swearing at me when I said "Please use the trade channel" and all the other times they have done as I asked, or even appologised.

geeze, where do you hang out at?
I can just simply zone around and find at least 10 people who use the All for trade.
Yeah, normally the mornings are clear of 11 year olds... so..
Summer is here.. though. gah..
I think people should have to get a license to game online..

I guess my mental filter has just refined itself to the point where I don't even see most of it anymore... it's in every game, every genre, pay-per-month, free, you name it. After a few years I adapted and by now it's just white noise.
I personally would refuse to let anyone drive me from a game I enjoy. Find the adults; they're out there.

Hmm.. yeah. I try, hard though.
Most of the time I ignore it, but when you're doing Hall of heroes of PvE it is kinda hard to ignore them since you have to work with them.

Don't uninstall. Start looking at different guild websites and see if you can ally yours with one of them that has compatible ideas--that's just one thought. Another is to make sure you put the ones you met who struck you as being your sort of player on your friends list. Advert with humor, ignore the kiddie spam, and change districts if it really, really gets to you.
I've never tried Tombs matches with a PUG so I don't have a true understanding of your pain. But maybe the suggestions above can give you a glimmer of hope.
Good luck.

It's easy to become jaded against the population of Guild Wars - anyone with half a clue converses in party or guild chat, it's only the few morons who spam local with their inane humour. For every person spamming questions, too lazy to find anything out for themselves there are several quietly checking fora or asking friends. For every person spamming trade in local, there are five or more who use the trade channel, and many others trade within guilds or friend list. For every PUG screamed together by a W/Mo there are several quiet ones with competent players, and even more parties of friends and guildmates.
But if all you see is the idiots spamming, it's easy to think the entire community is moronic. There's many good people playing, don't worry.

I really like what Keesa said about "Advert with humor." Here's a fun little story from my gameplay yesterday:
I spent several hours trying the last mission (Hell's Precipice) in pick-up groups, spending the majority of that time waiting around for the insisted-upon 2 monk primaries. Each one was a frustrating failure... none of the "darn, almost had it, let's try again" sort of experiences, but you know, the ones with "whoah, both monks just left" and "who the #$%^ didn't press Skip! <exit game>"
So... here's what I did: "Group of 3 with BOTH healer henchies LF more!" Then I just accepted the first 5 join requests and cracked up when I saw that 3 of them were W/Mo's (and I'm a W/N). But the ranger spoke up and said "I can cast Winter... let's try!" I offered to call targets, and everyone was fine with it. We had a blast through the entire mission, constantly laughing about how much the healer henchies rocked. It was a breeze because everyone was trying hard and having a good time. Nobody acted like a know-it-all, and in fact, the only person to have completed the mission before didn't even mention that until the very end, when he suggested a strategy (which worked like a charm).
Now THAT was a satisfying game experience . Of course, I realize a lot of it was just luck, but I have a feeling it had something to do with the frame of mind going into it.

I've created a new character recently, wanted to try a support class after playing through most of the game w/ my relatively cookie cutter W/Mo... The playerscape HAS changed from what it used to be. It really just feels less friendly. But then again, I have found decent people. And now instead of just parting ways and saying "cya, its been great", I add them to my friends list.
I'd say before, I had a 75% chance of a good team... now its down at about 50%. The good times outweigh the bad, however they may sting. Because a bad team ends in like 5-10 minutes, most of the time. A good one can last for hours
