Guild Upgrades Request For Chapter Two
=HT=Ingram
Guild Hall should serve as more then just a place to form a party for a GvG match... I made a few recommendations during Betas and many liked them, but I wanted to remind the developers of a few of the concepts for guild upgrades.
1st: The Guild treasury... this will serve as the central location to all other upgrades to the guild.
.. the treasury will allow members to deposit gold into a guild account to allow for upgrades to be added to the guild.
.. purchases of other guild upgrades come from this account so it is easy for the guild leader to pool gold for purchases from the entire guild.
.. the listings of possible upgrades will be in the treasury window, and we can allocate funds to whichever one they are working toward.
2nd: The Guild Armory... This will be a guild storage bin, (proposed 20 slots) that anyone in the guild can add too and take from when needed. This will be used for leaving stuff for fellow guild members when they are not online. then they can check the Armory for stuff left for them.
3rd: Guild Storage agent (personal storage just like in towns)... this will allow guild members to come to the guild and do commerce instead of having to go outside the guild to get stuff when trading with guild members.
4th: Guild Crafter and Skill trainers... A special crafter or trainer for the guild just like in towns, again for guild commerce.
.. Skill trainers to base skills available by the level of the character talking to them, to prevent low level characters being able to buy Better spells then the area of the game they are in.
5th: Guild map and Quest board... This will allow parties to be formed AT THE GUILD and click on the Guild map to go to an area as a group without having to find each other again. This would not effect the personal maps when done this way. and the map would only represent the max map point of the leader of the guild.
The quest board is a new concept that has been refined a little... but it goes back to the original idea of being able to post quests for everyone to get and do together, without having to ask around who has what... Also allows for possibility of guild leader making custom quests for the guild...
6th: Guild Private Msg mail... This will be a little more then just the announcement section of the guild window. it would be a type of internal e-mail message system for each member in the guild. then you can leave something for them in the armory and msg them that it there when they log on. currently we are doing this outside of the Game system with other programs, but it would be nice to have that as an upgrade to purchase for the guild. (If the armory is not a posibility, then maybe we can send stuff to people through the msg system. which they would get when they go check their mail at the guild hall. like a package in the mail.)
7th: Guild Practice Arena... where we can go head to head for practice against each other in our own guild.
Each upgrade would be purchased from the treasury.. each one being a significant amount of gold to get for the guild. forcing the guild to pool together to purchase the ones they want. This will make the guild hall much more significant in the game, because it will become more then just a casual meeting place. then going somewhere else and having to find each other AGAIN...
Each concept above was mentioned during betas, but we have had some time to refine the concepts a little to make it more interesting to the game overall. I believe this will make the guild hall much more interesting to all aspect of the game. PvP, GvG, and PvE...
Each upgrade should cost in the same price ranges as the capes and island purchases ( Sigil ). so it would be something to work for together...

Added two more by request.
8th: Ranger kennels for PvP pets. Being able to give charmed pets to the kennel at the guild to be used for PvP Rangers. Currently there is no way for a PvP ranger to get a different pet that I am aware of, unless they steal it from a PvE ranger that happens to go into a competition area with one, if that is even possible. I like the wolf and all but its not a good lev 20 pet at all... Not as fast and armor class sucks. Warthog and Dune Lizard are all better pets... If we get them in PvE it would be nice to use em in PvP too. (edited out bear. lol This was an old conecpt proposal)
9th: Ability to purchase special private events for your guild, like internal Guild games, (Capture the flag, Hide and seek, BBQ, ect...) Only participating guild members would be able to join it, not others outside your guild.

i like this all, that would greatly improve the guild hall.
BUT
for Guild map and Quest board, so that mean a lvl 1 char go to guild hall, form party with dude and can teleport to pretty much all the area around the map without even explore? =|

Makarei
Just put a requirement or level limited on certain areas which would prevent lv1 players from teleporting to those areas, if they dont meet the requirements. And if they join someone of higher level and try to teleport to an area, it kicks that player from the party displaying a message: "you are not the required level to access this region/area."
=HT=Ingram
that was the concept yea. if people in the party do not have access yet, it would not unlock it, it would just kick them from the party with a msg why, and the rest would arive there as a group... Its actually pretty easy to code for... Its just a if then else line in the warping code...
PaiNx
These are some good ideas. I have always thought that there should be alot more available at your guild hall.

well, you don't have to wait til the next chapter for most of this stuff. From thier own mouths ANet would likly add stuff like this as they made it without you having to pay anymore for it.

Great ideas OP.
I love #7 where we can scrimmage against ourselves. And the storage area in the hall is a big plus as well.
Here's a few more. Tell me what ya think folks.
1. Guild colors and Insignia in the hall's banners and flags
2. Defend the castle where we can attack or defend our hall against an NPC army of Undead, White Mantle, Summit Dwarves, or other monsters.
3. Day and night battles
4. Random AI controlled monsters/mobs with no alliegence to either team, and would attack any who venture near. They could be either stationary, or on a random patrol patturn and add a new dimension to the battles.
5. Increase the team max amount of players to make it a true battle. Perhaps up to 25 V 25.

They all very good ideas and i hope they do add something to the guild hall cause its very dissapointing once you get one. PvP against each other is a must, please, please anet make this all happen.
quanzong
If you have to defend your guild, I sure hope you also have the ability to LOOSE your hall.

msg mail is the only one i disagree with. i do think that making a larger announcement board would be nice...

esspecially the practice idea (within the guild)

Yeah! The guild hall should also have the guards and lord there even when not in gvg. The guild hall looks pretty much like a ghost town when not in gvg.

i like prety much all of the ideas, but would have to ask that it was not only pvp rangers that can store pets in the kennels.
(i admit, having the same pet forever in pvp is a downer, and that pve rangers can swap their pets via the tamers, but i would like to have more than one pet myself, and not have to rename it every time i want to swap from a melandru stalker to a lynx and have to re train it back to a good level.)
i would also sugest having 2 types of guild store, a Hall store and a guild store that is accessable intowns ect.
a personal character store, say 5-10 slots PER INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER, rather than the per account type store they have normaly.
this would let you keep your best set of posh show off armour is a safe place or keep your personal dye collection or trophies somewhere.
(would defalt to a special zunlai if the guild was closed, if your guild closed while you were offline, just go talk to the Lost and Found lady heheh)
also that the message system could have a list of who takes out and adds stuff to ether just the guild tresurey, or for both tresurey and store.
time of day, amount of gold in/out and items in/out and name of character.
this would let you know who was helping out and maybe even warn when someone was taking more than their fair share.
withdrwals could be only vewable by leader/officers and additions could ve seen by all....(a way to incourage members to add to the tresurey)
ooh, and an area that looks like a baracks (where the personal locker and store are)
an area that is a tavern style and sells drinks..who wants to have to send out to droks for booze, why not hire a barmaid and get drunk inthe guild hall

Would fit in, idealogically too. Perhaps the Mantle carry out regular attacks on the Guild Hall islands to 1] try to conquer them and 2] get rid of the guilds' influence in Tyria.

as you saw some of these have already been added. and other have been verified for Chapter 2.
For record When I said guild Armory thats a shared storage with the guild Take something leave something type of thing... With the leader placing initial inventory for guidies to pick from. and able to clean out junk on occasion. Basically an armory concept.
and Guild storage is just a Regular Storage agent in your guild hall. That's been missing since they added storage...
The custom quest thing is not likely I was told. but I have resorted to making them anyway with rewards in the guild for doing them with a SS of end task. and that seems to be a popular thing for fan sites to implement rather then in game. A few of them were submitted for review at arenanet and I spotted a variation of one in game during the Quest glitch.
So its nice to know that anet does actually review fan areas for some ideas from time to time...

all of em are great, but in reality, the bear is the worst possible choice. there is no real difference between the animals except their evolutionary stage. bears have the slowest attack of all...
so, the kennels for rangers...only if to swap out your pets so ya don't have to ditch yours all the time.
