Ranger/Elemantalist.

I like the ranger atack style very much so that's why I chosen it as first profession.
The elementalist seemed to be a powerfull char too and the skills available look like eye candy .
I didn't play any of the beta events, only preordered the game two days ago, so for now I'm not very sure of how the builds work, neither strong and weak aspects of each build.
Anyway, Ranger/Elementalist sounds good to me .
Best regards.

The final BWE was my first time playing and I wanted to be a Rang/Mes but we had a shortage of healers in my guild... ok it wasn't really a shortage, we didn't have any healers. lol. So I took Monk as a secondary instead. Thank god too, or we'd have died at least twice as often. I decided I like that combo and it'll be my primary character.

I know I'm bound to have a Elem/? and a Mesmer/? as well, it's just a matter of deciding which combo appeals to me the most. I've come to the conclusion that I'm not much of a "front lines" sorta girl...

Try Ele/Mes:
elementalis for the energy and "aura of restoration and flare"-combo
mesmer for all the great spells

(I'm not a frontline kinda boy, so I know what it's like )

Anyone think of doing this combo? Speaking of I never could find where I could get the secondary skill at Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated. Got into the last beta weekend for only 1 hour so not to much looking around during that time.

The secondary skill is trained the same as the primary (Assuming you mean class...). Walk up to the trainer who trains the second class and do their quest. When you complete the quest the system will ask you to confirm you want to do this, if you didn't like the combo then don't accept.

Go and talk to another trainer you chose and try the next class and so-on.
Confirming you are done chosing closes this character and you have the 2 classes you chose locked in.

I am going with Warrior, but I am having a hard time deciding on my secondary class. Last BWE, I didn't even choose a secondary and went pure warrior the whole way.

Everyone has a W/Mo for obvious reasons.

W/Me has a lot of interesting possibilities, though I don't have a specific build in mind.

I have tried and enjoyed a W/N.

W/E offers some great PvP options, though the changes to conjure affected the build I had in mind.

At this point I am considering rolling dice for my secondary profession.

Edit: Looks like W/Me for me.

As much as I enjoy playing as a Ranger, I enjoy the game with the Warrior.

I'm thinking of being a Monk Primary who mostly uses heal spells and smite to help kill those annoying healing monsters.

I think that a Monk is a very easy character to play and it makes some of the missions a LOT easier.

Also it's a lot easier to get into a good Party when you're a Healer.

Sure is easier to get a group, but i wouldnt say they gonna be easy, need to balance energy and select the right skills.Plus the armor and weapons just like any other profession. Not too easy.

Nuclear Bomb Of Cool

W/Mo

Im personally choosing W/Mo to begin with, mainly because they are great at soloing and raking in money. If i can get a large sum of money and skills unlocked with my w/mo , my pvp characters will have an easier time starting out. Not only this, but they are extremely fun to play.

Ok this maybe a noob question, but bare with me. What is the difference between warrior/ranger and ranger/warrior? Does it change the available skill sets? (just using classes as examples, could apply to any class combos)

Ranger, na-na-na-na... Ranger / necro as first character... monk / mes primary healer as second character... ranger necro is the "bomb diggy" and rips holes in anything... my build was nearly perfected with all this ranger testing i did this weekend... woo, pve i own, pvp its reasonably group friendly, as a self healer, letting monks focus more on other "little people"

The armor / runes / primary ability (strength/ or expertise)... warrior and ranger both have typicly the best armors, so its not a big downfall, unless you want the armor piercing ability a warrior gets from strength...

Well I was kinda sure that I posted in this thread before but it seems that I can't find my reply here anymore.

Anyway... My first profession was and will be Necromancer!
It fits to the character I would like to have and the story I thought of for her and all my Alts also.

So Necro/Mesmer it is!

Elem/Monk.

Cos its really 5 chars in one. Can go Healer/Fire/Air/Water/or Earth (not all at once of course) depending on what I fancy, as well as the needs and make-up of the PvE team.

Very versatile. Never goes out of fshion. Definitely a keeper.

Whoa... just took a look on the poll results... It's amazing how equal it really is.. Seems like ANet did a good job balancing the interest level of each profession

I myself will play Warrior as primary.. I like it simpel, yet brutal

First char will most likely have warrior as primary profession, probably a warrior/necromancer build.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread for this but it carries over from my other question. Back in the Ole' days of tabletops and dice, character dual classes were common, but had to submit to certin restrictions, say a warrior/ mage, the warrior could only use magic if wearing non-metal armour, which kinda sucked cause having a warrior kind meant you wanted more than leather armour. Will there be the same sort of restrictions in combo classes in GW's?

No.

Guild Wars has been very bad at letting people in the game know that taking a second class will not impede you in any way. There is no diminished spells, exp penalty, or favored classes. Plus, there is no benefit to taking only one class, so you might as well take a secondary class that you find interesting.

Thank you all for you responses, that is good not having restrictions.
