As Eagle mentioned, Spirit of Favorable winds is probably the most common of these guys. Players can set them down, as can any of the enemy MOBs of the ranger type. They make arrows fly a surer path.

Just for reference, so folks don't get confused, which is common with spirits, these aren't hexes. These are enchantments, regardless of whether they're an enemy or friendly spirit. The majority of the spirits are "any creature" spirits, so they effect everyone in the radius with whatever attribute they carry. The centaurs in the Shiverbacks drop the spirit "Winter" quite often. This is a benefit to those centaurs since they have +cold resistances. The centaurs in Maguuma Jungle tend to drop Spirits of Symbiosis. These give +HP for each enchantment a character has on. In the Southern Shiverbacks, the Pinesouls drop Spirits of Muddy Terrain. These are one of the few that have effects for enemies only. They cause enemy movement to slow.
When I'm not fighting rangers, I drop a Spirit of Favorable Winds. But when I'm fighting rangers, because it helps them as well, I usually don't spin one up. It allows those ranger mobs to interrupt a lot more often due to the short flight time of the arrows.
Incidentally, I solo centaurs around the Maguuma Jungle area quite a lot. Since they drop level 8 Spirits of Symbiosis and since I usually have 6-7 buffs on when I am in battle with them, these spirits give me just over 1200 hitpoints while I'm fighting them.
