C-Tzar if i remember correctly you are also a elementalist can you tell me what armor is next after the 39AC? and how close it is to the Wild. im saving my runes for better armor than what i have now. and im using the lightning 39AC right now. i use it because the Wraiths would kick my ars with the lighting damage.

i believe it's at ventari's refuge. go south, and southwest from the wilds, and you'll reach quarrel falls. keep going south into the desert and look for ventari's refuge.

I didn't upgrade my armor until I got to Amnoon's Oasis in the desert, where it was AF51. I don't recall if there was anything better than AF39 before there, but if there is, I doubt it's worth it to upgrade that often. And you'll never have high enough armor to take much of a beating. Being squishy is just part of the job description.

oh i remember another crafter. he's not in a town, but instead he's outside sanctum cay. exit sanctum cay, then go west-southwest a bit, and you'll see a Crafter npc standing there.

i got some decent AL clothes there for my monk early in the game, but for some reason my ranger friend said the NPC's craft list was empty.

maybe he only crafts for certain professions? i'm not sure about this

That's a collector standing outside of Sanctum Cay, he/she only has one piece (legs I believe, for the elem) that are the same 39AF, and with no +15% bonus to any elemental damage types. The price is right, but they aren't any better than anything else you can get before then.

I usually don't upgrade my armour til Oasis. And then I have to upgrade it when I get to Forge again anyway. If you can hold out, do so.

One of the posts mentioned after ascention......im lvl 18 E and I have not ascended but I was able with a group (which I did a large amount of the work) to run to dronars forge. Do most usually ascend first? I used the spell that gives me 33% speed increase for 30 sec and it worked.

Yes, probably 99% ascend first. That trek south from Beacon's is just plain buggery without a very solid group of high-level toons.

You can get all four types of elementalist armor at 45AL in either Maguuma Stade or Riverside (I found that armorer last night, but not sure in which one. I THINK it's Maguuma)

Ofcourse, if you have 39, there really is no point in going to 45 unless you happen to have plenty of materials and gold (like me.)

Edit : Also, collector's around Ventari(?)'s hideout / druid's overlook / bloodstone fen have AL 51 versions of plain elementalist armor, but they require some pretty tricky stuff for them.

Good info, thanks for the input. Not sure if it's worth getting, but might be to some. Certainly nice to know about it.

My biggest reason for not upgrading armor at every other town is not wanting to risk losing any of my runes then having to stand around spamming "WTB XYZ rune".

There's also a crafter outside Sanctum Cay, but not right outside. When you leave you can hug the left wall and go around the monsters and walk over to him (hold down ALT to make it easier to find). Only has armor for certain classes (I forget which). My monk got 57 AL armor there which was handy to have in advance for the desert. It's expensive though, around a plat per piece I think, not counting the components.

For your elementalist, you can get AL 51 armor (no element bonus though) from collectors mostly around Ventari's Refuge. You need 5 of each item. From my own notes...

gloves - druid's outlook (ebon spider legs)
legs - Meghan the Bright (SW part of The Falls), Jungle Troll Tusks (there's a map to her in the collector locations thread)
chest - outside Ventari's to the left, thorny carapaces
boots - maguuma manes (NE corner of Ettin's Back, the area outside Ventari's) or ancient eyes (Ventari's Refuge). Hit whichever collector you have the items for.

Collector locations - http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=9187

The Falls is an area SW of Ventari's Refuge past Reed Bog. Llourdes the Arcane in The Falls is an odd collector. I think she had leggings for my Ele and monk, but my war was offered a tactician helm. I think she collects ancient eyes. Might be an alternative leggings option for some classes if you want to check, though troll tusks are generally easy to come by.

no no, i wasn't talking about the collector. like i said, exit sanctum cay, then keep walking south-southwest. there's a crafter NPC there with 1.5k armor. and like i mentioned, my ranger friend said that the crafter had nothing in his armor list, while i had a full list of censor/wanderer/etc etc
