Farming?

I've seen where and how to do it, but no where could I find what the heck it is. Would someone please explain farming to me?

farming = going to a area of any map and killing stuff for there loot or gold...

EI: i get a group of people to go kill some lightning Drakes to collect there loot drops... this is called farming Lightning Drakes, or going out to kill Charr for there hide. Im farming the Charr for what they can give me...

Really good farming is done solo.
