Build Q in adventure mode?

In adventure mode ( I dont know what it's called LOL) Do all of these builds on the left apply? I dont think they do but I am not sure... I cant figure out how to choose skills or anything because I am new. I am pretty sure you do quests to get them. NBut then how do you follow a build. Ugghh this game will take some getting used too =P

To get skills you can

a) Earn em with quest
b) Buy em from vendor ( post-searing )
c) Capture em from boss
