Signet of Capture

If I am using an elite (Word of Healing) and I have a Signet of Capture, and I use the SoC to capture a second elite (Healing Hands), what will happen to the second elite? I can't equip two elites at once. Will it not allow me to capture?

I don't care if, say, both elites are removed from my bar or something, as long as I can equip either of them later on. Just wondering.
