Guild DB problem...
Cerixus
I submitted my guild and included an image. Once it was approved I checked my guild in the DB and the picture there was NOT the one I submitted. I don't know if this is a bug or a joke, but I really don't appreciate a picture of a giant bong plastered on my guild listing...

The URL you had put: http://www.overgrow.com/edge/gallery/718014/Bizong.jpg
Just go to edit and update the URL.

The problem is that is NOT the URL I had put... I'm very aware of how to change the picture. I want to know how it happened or at least make you guys aware that there is a problem.
Cerixus
Actually, I just went to edit it and here is what is in the "Guild Logo" field:
http://www.thekaoticorder.com/forum/...s/logo_phpBB.g
Apparently the URL is too many characters. Is that the reason it's pulling someone elses picture or something?

FYI: I just changed it to http://www.thekaoticorder.com/TKO4.jpg

No - each entry has its own ID field, and that ID field is used as the name of the image (when we save it locally).
Your guild image is far too big.

The image I posted above is like half the size of the bong image. And if you're talking about the file size, it's only 70k and I don't see a size restriction on the guild edit page. What is the max file size?
So if field size isn't the reason, do you have any other ideas why the bong picture appeared on the profile?

ROFL HAHAHAHA! I'm nearly in tears right now. This has got to be one of the most amusing things I've ever read on these forums. A giant bong? LOL! *Falls out of chair.*

Cerixus - like I said, no clue about that bong. We use vb3 backend - I can only assume the image hoster did that.
That bong image should not be approved either. I simply have not wiped it out because I am waiting for a new submission by you.
70kb = not acceptable.

Is 35k acceptable? I submitted it...
edit: and I hate to be more of a pest, but what do you mean by "image hoster" above? Are you referring to something on your end? I own thekaoticorder.com and am the vice president of the company that hosts the site. I can assure you it wasn't anything on my end.

No - the image size (pixels) itself is too big also
Cerixus
Gah, why didn't you say that when you said 70kb was unacceptable? Is there any way to just go ahead and post the size restrictions? I'd be more than happy to accommodate (after all, I'm using a service you're providing (and a good one at that)), but I can't keep guessing here...

Because it is a subjective thing.
The size of your banner is too large. Its massive. If it looks big, its not okay.
Your image was not only too big in filesize (70kb), but also in pixel-size (height and width).

K, it's ~20k and 250 pixels wide and I have submitted it.
Cerixus
The pic still hasn't been updated. I guess I'll never know if it's because it STILL exceeds the "subjective" limits or if it's because I'm permanently blacklisted by the administration for making this post.
Who do you have to screw to get a few measly numbers around here anyway?

Well thats cute Ice. You registered just to flame me.
And it requires common sense. I don't know what little world you live in, but who in their right mind makes a logo image that is 500 pixels wide, 290 pixels tall, and 70kb in size?
Why don't you go ahead and make your own guild db and then tell me what to do.
Cerixus: It is likely still unapproved and sitting in the queue. I have other things to do than constantly moderate a forum.

Oh man. Maybe it's because it's 7:00 AM, but that's the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. Thanks for the laugh.

Their signature is at least half the size of yours in "size size" not diamentions. Could be a possiblity.

No, it got through because someone was sleeping at the helm!

In any case, I edited out that other guilds logo and approved yours.

How can you claim that when you have a "subjective" policy? Maybe the other admin didn't think it looked too big? You can't claim incompetence on his/her part when you don't have a set standard.
Subjective:
1. Proceeding from or taking place in a person's mind rather than the external world.
2. Particular to a given person; personal.
3. Moodily introspective.
4. Existing only in the mind; illusory.
etc...
p.s. Thanks for approving my pic.
p.p.s. That other guild's "logo" was actually pretty nice. I almost feel bad for using them to point out the flaw in your system.
