improvements and flaws
Yotian
As in my First post ( as the Topic says ) i wish to conduct some chatter over few flaws and improvements in the Guild Wars, i been playing a lot of RPgs and MMO/MMORPGs ( from FF2...ENB...UO to CO to EOF and GWs ) so i begin to notice when a game is missing something relevant that would make the experience of playing it more convinient and fun as well to create more diversity in it.
I will be posting a list of my suggestions for Major improvements and flaws in this game that i would like to see happen Pre or post release of the next major update ( as in " The patch" )
The list is as Follows and i will be giving u more details on how the AN could Fix the flaws/ and explainatory for the improvements.
*FLaws
-Chat system is unfinished.
-henches get stuck beneath textures.
-Henches start following monster waypoints.
-Henches take a thinking moment ( just stand around and do nothing for 2-4 minutes )
-Trade Spam and a solution for it
*Improvements
-New type of armor/weapon upgraders
-new way to make exploring the map more fun
-the sound control improvements ( dont know where to gathegorize this)
-AFK auto message ( this isnt a big job would be disappointing if AN couldnt handle this)
-One on One/Duel/open Arena
-Marriage
Theres the list and i will begin explaining with the two first subjects in the list as in the Topics Chats system and Henche stuck.
Flaws Part 1 of 2
*Chat system.
As u all know we have the regular chats here Talk, Guild chat, Group Chat, Trade and whisper. But the first time i launched my Beta i couldnt stop wondering, WTF am i supposed to do if i wanna say hello to all of my friends at once whisper 30+ separate messages... no way dudes i am not going for that >_< i figured maybe they fix it till the release but they didnt...then i was wondering "Man do PPL in AN really have this much lack of creativity" so to put it simple GIVE US A FRIEND CHAT options, Thanx in advance OR! R u the guys in AN trying to run a coup to rise the Team Speak server sales... i can say one thing, not gonna happen not too many people wanna use TS with over lets say 8 people or the channel gets so flooded no one hears what another is saying ( i know i know, u R thinking i dont know how to create a own channel ETC... but its not that, People usually wanna hang out in the same channels where the rest of the people is ).
*Hench Getting stuck under textures
Well all i can say is i hope to see this bug fixed really spoils the mood and gaming experience when u need to spend 4-7 hours with one mission only becouse henches get stuck under/over/between/behind textures over and over again ( spent 8+ hours on frostgate mission alesia got stuck 7 times behind the frost gate gears in the end and had to start over when i had no healer to cover the team whne we went to use the other gears with the lever).
As for u guys, i am open for criticism so give me plenty of it ( positive or negative dont care as long as its creative criticism and stays in the subject )
AND PLEASE READ THE POSTS THROUGH dont read few lines from here and there READ THE WHOLE THING and then reply.

Although it could be worse I would highly suggest you read this topic and take it to heart.

Anyways, As for the friend chat thing, I don't think that'd work.
Why? Not everyone is on everyone else's friends list.
So I'd be talking, say like 'yo' and it'd get sent to my friends. I then have someone else go 'hey, did you ever get (skill)?' in which turn I'd reply yes.
But let's say player A doesn't have player S on their list so Player A has no idea what I'm talking about.
Thus introducing the need for me to whisper Player S and talk to him so PLayer A isn't lost.
But what happens when player A asks me a question? Suddenly I'm juggling two whispers anyways.
So what's the point in not just whispering them in the first place?

hmmm ok. i reread the rules >_< sorry for using U instead of You etc... thought it would make the post a bit shorter ^_^ and really people do understand it, but as you say i will use " you " hengeforth.
and as for the friend chat i am sorry i forgot to mention, you could adress the message for your friend lets say person S wants to say something to person C with out confusing Persons A, J, Y etc... it would be a similar system to whisper but your friends see what you type and and they could also advice you in the proces. So the chat would basicly work like this
S speaks to C: hey where was that capture signet trainer again?
C speaks to S: ah damn i cant remember
A speaks to S: its in the quarrel falls.
so thast about it, if anyone of you have ever played Conquer Online it had a wery good and efficient friend chat system ( the only good thing over this game)

Definitely some kind of feature notifying people that someone is AFK. It's so annoying when someone goes AFK during a mission or quest. Also, some how fix the issue when players sometimes get kicked off of Guild Wars when entering mission. More different variation of armor. The stats are ok but the looks should be different. I mean I don't want to see someone else wearing my armor set. It's like Attack of the Clones!!! Or at least have a feature that allows you to design your armor, not affecting the stats in any way, just the appearance.

Flaws Part 2 of 2
*Henches over hauling monster waypoints.
Yes this is a sad one apparently henches sometimes take over a monster waypoint ( dont know how its possible ) and start following it, thus resulting in another stuck dilemma one hench gets stuck, rest of the party dies, and what happens when you are on a mission... restart and rip your hair of, only solution i can find for this one is to either make waypoints smaller and off-limits for henches ( so they dont stay over the waypoints ) or make henches stick closer to you ( this should be easily done by AN guys, just boost the hench speed )
*Dumb henches need to think for the next action?
No solution to this really its annoying, its sticks with you, but thank god its a rare event, othervise i would have given up on this game 20 days ago.
*Trade chat spam and the solution
you all hate when a guy goes like this: WTS MINOR RUNES ALL KIND
WTS MINOR RUNES ALL KIND!!
WTS Minor Runes ALL KIND!!!!
i know you guys hate it but i have a easy solution ^_^ allow each person to send only one message in trade chat in 30 seconds no matter what the subject and message context then switch your talk off to prevent spam there voilĂ no trade spam. the part where you can send only one message in 30 second is where AN needs to come forward to us.
Coming this evening is the improvements part 1 of 2

If you're annoyed by trade chat, turn it off, filter it out with your eyes, or add that person annoying you to your ignore list. There's no reason you should hate people who are trying to sell what they have, because if their lines start with big, caps letters like WTS and WTB, then you don't need to read the rest of it to know its garbage to you. I can honestly say that those people never annoy me, and I don't hate them for trying to sell the things they find, I just filter it out with my mind(which works better then any filter ANet will ever be able to make).
Shadow_Avenger
A custom filter option would be good, if you could filter out WTS /WTB from the main channel it would actually cut out alot of spam. I still think you, that the option to set up multiple chat boxes would be very good in the long run, one for main channel, one for whisper, 1 4 trade and 1 4 game engine text.

and as for the hench stuck issues:
#1 henches getting stuck under/behind/between textures = not a lag issue i am on a fast corporate network connection so that rules it out, i have had only once lag.
#2 henches getting stuck in monster waypoints, tell me WHAT!! can be wrong with my comp. if henches litelarry start following monster waypoints ROFL. Please Mr. Sherlock tell me and i fix it.
But i have to admit i might need to slow down, but why are the henches slow in the first place? and maybe you have never heard of GWs term " RUN " means you dont stay and fight when you can run to the place you want to reach in a fraction of the time ( usually done with other people but have to resort to henches when no other people around)
as for future remarks like that, and for the people who dont read the posts well enough i only reply. BAKA!

Time for...
*Improvements Part 1 of 2
-New Type of a NPC Armor/weapon upgrader
Simply put, this NPC allows you to customize your looks even further add some decals from other armors to another, paint your armor even further ( even the small areas of armor u couldnt paint, or the big ones that didnt get painted), as for the weapons. One could combine different weapon textures together, lets say the dragon swords blade texture combined with a bone staffs handle/staff piece/ grip texture makes it look like a Zanbatto "Glaive" Ofcourse it would be wielded with two hands and it would have a 2 handed extra damage ( 15-21---> 17-28 would be a good one??) but speed 33% slower
-A way to make exploring the map more fun
you all know too well how game nerfs the good hunting spot once you find one forcing you to do a couple of missions ( or more ) before trying to hunt there again, but how about adding an option to endless amount of re entering missions and running thru them? well here is a one. lets explore the map... but wait we done exploring its boring also . well... we need to spice it up lets add a few special monster to each area that appear in random locations they have also unique names and name is either colored purple or golden ( atleast one of each type in one area ) BUT they are harder to find since random placement theyr monster type would also change , and they would have higher chance to drop items according to theyr color purple or golden, but we dont want to make insta-god character out of the noobs do we? so lets add a certain mile stone you need to reach, maybe lions arch would be good after lions arch in each area would have these monsters. i mean hunting for the special monsters would be more fun to do some mission the 120th time over again.
-Sound Control improvements
any of you know how it sucks when you cant change the music in this game or you want to listen to your own music but the game is still running the music files even though you have sound minimum for music ( WE NEED A OFF BUTTON ASAP!!! ) and makes your players even slower than using it in other games where you can simply turn of the music, If AN is lacking so much creativity to forget to add a OFF button for musics could they atleast give us the oppurtunity we need, update GWs that we can replace the music files with one of our own using standard music encoding extensions like MP3, WMA, OGG, etc. etc. i allready have made a folder where i collected music for this purpose if we ever have this possibility

If you go to your Friends List, you can actually set yourself to Online, Away, and a few other options.. but I've noticed, all it does is set it so if you're away, you don't receive /whispers.
The one thing I fully support here is an Auto-Away Message.. so setting yourself to Away on your friends list, or typing /afk should allow to you to input a msg so people will know you are away.

I was mentioning the AFK thing in response to Night Daftshadow's post.
Re: your post, I think that's a bit complex.
If you and your friends want to be able to communicate with each other all the time, then join a guild together. Or meet together and talk in /all chat or in /party chat.

Ok, if your going to slam me, don't think I'm going down without a fight. If you're so concerned that spammers are adding an exclamation mark to the end of their sentence to spam, then would you NOT get the idea that if you see LETTER FOR LETTER EVERY SINGLE LINE that its going to be the same thing, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and again???????
It makes sense to me, that if you had a brain the size of a peanut, you would be able to decipher the fact that the same thing is being fed to you, hardly changed, just by GLANCING at it. If your mind is unable to filter trash, and a person is really annoying you...put them on your ignore list, and go to a different district, and QUIT complaining.
You know what, you didn't have to be an annoying snot about it, it was just a suggestion. Pull the stick out of your rear and quit thinking everyones against you. If your computer DOESN'T lag, then you should QUICKLY be able to tell if a henchmen is stuck, instead of waiting 5 minutes late when you're dead and you go..."Oh no...he's stuck on the teleporter switch now I have half an hour of work ruined...poo monkeys."
If your henchmen are getting stuck in monster waypoints(won't happen now, it's fixed supposedly, and I'm sure you got that term from the updates page, since you lack the knowledge to think up something like that yourself), then you better run as fast as you can to get to them, or they'll die. I've done so on many ocassion, and it's not that difficult even if they run through textures. You can usually get near enough to the monster waypoint to have them start running back to you before they die, and if they do, too bad.
About the slowness of Henchmen. Did you ever think that maybe it doesn't matter how slow they are? This online game is free to you, after you initially buy the game. If they're slow, big deal. Take 5 more seconds out of your life to make sure your henchmen are safe instead of complaining you wasted 2 hours of your life when you henchmen died from being slow.
You're "running." Wow..you know some big fancy words thar...you must be a cities folks with high tech equipment and perfume for yer armpits! Seriously, if this game was meant for you to run past hordes of monsters with henchmen, doing nothing skill related, then the dev team wouldn't have...what're they called again...MONSTERS in the game. Don't come to the boards, and say you're too stupid to think GW is worse because henchies don't stand and fight when you're trying to run the next cutscene because you're such a horrible gamer, you couldn't kill the monsters built into the game...made to be killed...killed by everyone...every day...all the time...get over it, really.
You say I have a low IQ, but you can't:
1. Make sure your teammates are near you, even though there's a reason parties get up to the size of 8.
2. Filter trading chat with your own mind. You come to the boards to complain for hours on end that for a few seconds you were angry at a person putting words on your screen that you can filter out.
3. Think for yourself, so you copy what other people tell you is right.
4. Use your perfect computer's internet speed to find out henchmen are stuck on textures.
5. Figure out that if henchmen are stuck at point A, you don't run to Point B.
6. Take the time to do things right, instead of doing them quick.
7. Figure out why the heck you would want to fight a monsters while playing the role of your character on a monster fighting role playing game.
NOW THE NEW STUFF!!!!
This means, your more recent post about what you think needs being updated(just trying to help you keep up the pace here with your tiny brain and fast internet speed).
With your first suggestion, I would have to agree. Having an NPC that takes in gold so you can go over your character again, hairstyles and colors, would be awesome. I'm no so sure about the raising damage part, but it might work.
With your suggestion on Purple/Gold monsters, I would have to disagree, because it would give the PvPers another reason to complain about having to Grind 24/7 to find the Purple/Gold monsters to get the items they NEED for PvP O_o
And this piece of work, I saved for last:
This has easily become the most disrespectful post I have ever seen. If you want to away the ambient sounds of Guild Wars, click on Menu --> Options.
This will bring up a window, and lo and behold...sound controlling devices. It's called a slider, the left side means OFF and the left side means OFF. If you want the sound OFF you pull the little ball to the left side. That will turn the sound OFF for whichever category you picked. The three to choose from are Music(Background Music, which is the one you want) Background Audio Volume(this is the sounds like Birds chirping, rustling leaves, etc.) and finally, the last one is Effects Volume( which is what you would reduce if you didn't want to hear the clanging of swords and such).
Don't come to the boards, harass ANet, and expect them to give two cents to what you think. And definately don't come, harassing other people who don't agree with all your horrible biased opinions, and then pass it off like you're the queen of England, and you're opinion and thoughts are always 100% right. Also, don't assume that because you don't understand all of the words in my post that I "misread" your post. I never misread your post, and I stand firmly behind everything I have said so far.

Quote:
Time for... *Improvements Part 1 of 2 -New Type of a NPC Armor/weapon upgrader Simply put, this NPC allows you to customize your looks even further add some decals from other armors to another, paint your armor even further ( even the small areas of armor u couldnt paint, or the big ones that didnt get painted), as for the weapons. One could combine different weapon textures together, lets say the dragon swords blade texture combined with a bone staffs handle/staff piece/ grip texture makes it look like a Zanbatto "Glaive" Ofcourse it would be wielded with two hands and it would have a 2 handed extra damage ( 15-21---> 17-28 would be a good one??) but speed 33% slower -A way to make exploring the map more fun you all know too well how game nerfs the good hunting spot once you find one forcing you to do a couple of missions ( or more ) before trying to hunt there again, but how about adding an option to endless amount of re entering missions and running thru them? well here is a one. lets explore the map... but wait we done exploring its boring also . well... we need to spice it up lets add a few special monster to each area that appear in random locations they have also unique names and name is either colored purple or golden ( atleast one of each type in one area ) BUT they are harder to find since random placement theyr monster type would also change , and they would have higher chance to drop items according to theyr color purple or golden, but we dont want to make insta-god character out of the noobs do we? so lets add a certain mile stone you need to reach, maybe lions arch would be good after lions arch in each area would have these monsters. i mean hunting for the special monsters would be more fun to do some mission the 120th time over again. |
With your suggestion on Purple/Gold monsters, I would have to disagree, because it would give the PvPers another reason to complain about having to Grind 24/7 to find the Purple/Gold monsters to get the items they NEED for PvP O_o
And this piece of work, I saved for last:
Quote:
-Sound Control improvements any of you know how it sucks when you cant change the music in this game or you want to listen to your own music but the game is still running the music files even though you have sound minimum for music ( WE NEED A OFF BUTTON ASAP!!! ) and makes your players even slower than using it in other games where you can simply turn of the music, If AN is lacking so much creativity to forget to add a OFF button for musics could they atleast give us the oppurtunity we need, update GWs that we can replace the music files with one of our own using standard music encoding extensions like MP3, WMA, OGG, etc. etc. i allready have made a folder where i collected music for this purpose if we ever have this possibility |

Time for...
*Improvements Part 2 OF 2
-AFK auto message.
yes a simple yet brilliant idea if i may say so about my own ideas in anycase i was hoping we would get the following option screen when we set Busy or AFK #1 a set of preset messages that are modifiable for example MSG1: User is AFK for now. MSG2: user is currently AFK but will be shortly back. MSG3: open message for you to type what you feel necessary. as for Busy, MSG1: User is having a lunch/dinner. MSG2: User is in phone. MSG3:user is busy with something else for unspecified time. MSG4: Blank message.
We would also require a No Message button then the Program would simply send a reply message saying AFK or BUSY.
-One on One/Duel/open arena
yes we need 1 Vs. 1/duel arena here its good for training your skill sets and testing your build in PvP we dont need new maps for this just simply add a button | Duel Batle | below the enter mission button in the current arenas ( except the Tombs). As for the open arena we dont need new maps either just add a |Open Batle| button to the buttons and the batles will be like this: up to 10 players may compete in all Vs. all batle and the last man standing gets to next round this could also use the HoH maps, and have also auto message like this. K has won the batle in an Open arena at XX ( XX the arena he entered )
-Marriage
yes it would be nice to be able to get couples in GWs lets say a NPC Priest in each Major city after searing of ascalon, here is the list of things you can do and cant do when married.
*you can see a Heart in your radar to locate your spouse like in CO.
*Action /Love makes a animated heart about the size of your head that circles around your head 2 times then bursts to 5 smaller hearts that disappear gradually. ( you could have a set of these like /love1 /love2 etc. etc.)
but you could also set the animations off from the options if you get too spammed
*you get 50% more experience from monsters when you are alone with your spouse on the map in mission or doing quests or exploring ( doesnt work if you have more than 50% of the team slots used so in 8 max team you cant have more than 4 in your team or u lose the extra exp advantage)
*you cant acces your spouses storage ( in order to avoid scams)
so how do you people like this idea

here - http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...hlight=Message
(sort of)
and I'm sure it's been elsewhere too, but using search for "AFK" "Away" or "Message" doesn't bring up the right stuff. Really, don't take credit for something like that, because it's been thought up before...on other games, in these forums, etc. Another suggestion for you...don't gloat about yourself, kind of annoying...yeah...
1 v 1 Battles:
Been discussed, over multiple boards/forums/posts, a lot right here in the sanitarium.
Marriage:
Pretty much what Aaaaagh said, except I would also add in the fact that this isn't Everquest...it's Guild Wars.

i pointed out it would be nice to have the trade messages limited to 1/30 seconds no matter how long they are, just let people say what they have to offer or what they are looking for simple as that no spam. and as for slapping you, if you cant read my whole post with a thought dont veen bother to reply i want/need solid feedback not assumptions.

I've done so on many ocassion, and it's not that difficult even if they run through textures. You can usually get near enough to the monster waypoint to have them start running back to you before they die, and if they do, too bad.

would like to see them come up and i collected the ideas in one post.
and for the marriage you like to scrap things before you think dont you ^_^ if you didnt realise by know there are people who like to sosialize in this game like 2 of my friends allready acting like a couple ^_^ this would just give the oppurtunity for the people who want to get married in game

NOTICE one hander turned to 2 hander thats why the damage increase part it would work both ways so 2 hander going to 1 hander would result a decrease in damage ( again i have to say read my posts) reason i posted this seperately is i wanted to make absolutely sure this part gets thru so the people browsing wount miss this so easy.

If the trade channel nerfs the spammers ability to spam, he will spam elsewhere. And if you're going to restrict the local channel, then you're going to get a lot of angry citizens, who just want to talk to a friend and can't because they have to wait X seconds for their next message to go through. Get a brain, and think further than what's behind you. Your entire argument is
"Baka"
and
"...you can't read my whole post..."

like i said BAKA! i still want to see what they have to offer thats why ignore is out of the question, but when 20+ people are doing the same thing... thats why the message limitation. |
If 20+ people are annoying you, then go to the district with the biggest number tacked on to it, because there will be fewer people there than the smaller numbered districts. That way, it is literally impossible for 20+ people to annoy you. Once again, your only argument is "Baka"

umm this time i say BAKA Yaro! first of all it doesnt matter whether i see hes stuck or not, its the thing HE GETS stuck so noticing that he is stuck doesnt change the fact he is stuck and have to start over again, as for your opinion that i think everyone is against me sorry man gotta disappoint you there also if u just had the patiense to read the whole messages you would understand i am trying to find out if that is theyr last opinion concerning the subject. |
1. You can try to get them unstuck, so you can continue.
2. Or you can save yourself from your hormonal rage and just restart without getting angry at everyone because you goofed up.
And yes, you think everyone is against you if you can't take advice from a simple suggestion like this:
"Well, if your henchies keep getting stuck, it could be lag issues with the servers, or your computer might have its own crash(kind of) and you should probably just slow down. Either way, if you're soloing with henchies, then it should be one of your bigger concerns to make sure they stay caughter up with you, and if they get stuck on something, then you should be able to identify by them not following you on the radar that something is wrong."
without replying in a hostile way like you did...here:
"Seems like you havent read the last post from me with thought i am trying to point out the spam that People do by adding only one new mark in the message = constant spamming. let me make it more clear to the others with I.Q. of a 8 year old. ok heres again a sample of the Spam ( and i am annoyed of it only becouse i am trying to see what other people have to offer for sales and what they wanna buy instead of seeing the same message over and over again, was it that hard to understand?"
AND ONCE AGAIN:
It's not a surprise your only argument is "Baka" and "You can't read my whole post"
Quote:
Dear baka yaro! we run to the places when we dont feel like fighting its not a big deal to fight i know but man you get over my remarks ROFL, i mean i dont run to the key places i rather fight but when we are talking about the small places like marhans grotto and such i prefer to run them to my map, chek the skills there then continue with the plot related missions and quests and then get back there and explore the area when done with the missions and quests that i am on at the moment. It seems to me you havent figured out that NOT all have 11 hours a day time to just fight theyr way to the smallest cities. Bleh |

2. Been covered, people wouldn't use trade channel, they'd use local chat.
3. if you think its irrelevent, sure, why not.
4. i said your computers internet speed was perf, not your computer. You said you never lagged, 1 exception, so SORRY if the overexagerration of one instance confused you.
5. the point of 5, was to know not to run to point B, die and learn you should have run to point A. get a brain.
6. if you dont have time the play the game, dont play the game. simple as that.
7. can't reply to this, i have no clue what i repeated for you.

"If AN is lacking so much creativity to forget to add a OFF button..."
They offer you Guild Wars servers for free use, and you disrespect them like that. They've worked hard, and have excellent service for a company that doesn't expect $15+ out of you each month.
If you have enough power on your PC to play a music player and Guild Wars, then it's not too horrible having the music volume reduced, while playing your own music. I've played games like Half Life 2, T:V, EQ while running windows media player(not the best, but i dont care what it is, as long as it plays my music) and when i switch over to GW, i really dont notice a big change that makes my player run slower, this based on your "( and do it with more easy since the decrease in processing needed for game makes other programs run faster )" statement. I'll start quoting you when replying, so you know I'm reading your posts. And I'll let you know, my machine isn't the most updated. I'm running 2000 on a computer originally '95, so you can imagine it's not the best. Just wondering myself...what are you using? I just want to know why your game/player changes when mine doesn't, could be different computer(dunno how gateways, homemade, and other computers work as far as those things, so i might be missing a piece to understand this fully)

Yes, you've stated your disappointment on things, and I tried to reply in a way I thought wouldn't be insulting, but you turned it around on me and insulted me for not fully understanding you when you briefly discuss what was
going wrong with your henchies. I tried to suggest a few things, not only to you but to other people who get problems with henchies and who might have read this post, and you turn around and insult me. Thanks, great to know when I give a small suggestion that people like to insult me about it. This is referring to MY first post, which was harmless, and not directed to insult you in ANY way, but you somehow thought it insulted you and decided to strike back. And because I was insulted, i defended myself, and it seems I still need to against your arrogance.

Oh ok, I can see from the screenshots what you mean. But it's a little invasive, don't you think? Whispers are generally between two people, and are usually private conversations that you don't want to share with the public. Making whispers show to everyone kind of defeats the purpose.
Plus, it's extra spam, and the conversations you are having get lost in other people's conversations.

From what I can gather, I think you're looking for what some other games call "chat channels" - channels that are created by players for their friends to join, which are persistent over logouts from the game. For example, you create a chat channel called "Friends of Yotian". Then you invite your friends to join that chat channel. Now they use that chat channel in order to send messages to everyone that has joined that chat channel. I know several games that use this concept, and it works very well.
I have spent a lot of time playing with henchmen (the majority of my ranger's 350,000 experience). I haven't ever had them follow a different mob's waypoint. I've had them get stuck on objects, which I then have to manipulate them out of. I've had them run off to the last point where we died as a group (apparently they fixed this.) I've also never had them sit around for 2-4 minutes doing nothing. I have had the healers and casters not engage in a fight, but that's because I was at the extreme edge of longbow range, and I had to move up just a bit for them to realize a fight was occurring.

and about the friend chat its good to know someone else here knows what i mean with it, and correct me if i am wrong but they dont really add the spam actually decrease it since you dont have to ask many people thru different messages you can just type it in one chat box and you conviniently have all your friends there to answer to the question.

I know I'm a little late here, but I have a comment about the chat spamming issue.....
Ok I have a few ideas:
1) make dedicated trade districts. Say districts one and two are solely for people who want to trade. People can't auto to get in there, it has to be chosen.
2) another idea make a trade area, like what was implemented in D2.
One of these should filter out all the spam from people who just want to play and not buy or sell anything. Because lets face it, people will find a way to get around filters.
Just my opinion, again sorry I'm a bit late but had to voice my thoughts.
Thank you for your time.

Rhunex, I can't help but come to the conclusion from your posts that you are a borderline megalomaniac. It appears you must always be correct, always have the last word, and anything you haven't personally tried doesn't work.
Then of course you author "brilliant" ideas like the ability to "puke" when drunk - which speaks much more of your actual personality and skillset.
All I can say to you is Tyria is a very big place, and you are a very small person.
Play accordingly.

thats a BRILLIANT idea, ^_^ another solution would be market like in CO but a bigger one though, u just reserve a spot there, display your items in a vendor spot that everyone can view, put your prices there and wait till someone with the money comes and buys.

If you're going to flame my post, then you're flaming the wrong person. All I tried to do was give suggestions to how/why Yotian's initial ideas might not work out 100% the way he thought they would. I never said anything hostile until I started being attacked like giving a suggestion is the most rude thing to do...

Now that would be nice too.
How about having a place like a "personal store" that people can go to....
you put your items you want to sell in there (keeps items out of your inventory and storage vault....set a price, or have a timed auction (highest bidder automatically gets it) and let the store work for you.
This would not only help with inventory/vault space but in a sense eliminate the need for people to spam WTS/WTB items.
Talesin Darkbriar
Lady your idea has great merit - and would easily allow people who wished to either trade or whatnot to go to the appropriate areas to do so - sparing the rest of us from their spam.
Rhunex, I was not referring to the OP, but rather your general attitude that any idea proposed is bad, unless of course YOU are the one making it.
Not intended as a flame but as a general observation, and aye, I believe your "puke post" speaks a great deal about you.
lol~

Yes, I disagree to everything...why? Because I'd rather not have the public viewing a biased opinion on something, then a petition be put up and all the little kids vote on something they think is right, and ends up ruining the game for many. I don't think every proposed idea is bad, but a lot of ideas just aren't possible with GW as it is now(Like new professions, modes of transportation, etc), and then there's ideas or parts of the game the staff is already working on fixing, like bugs, glitches and other run-time errors.
By objecting to the original post, I didn't mean to say it was horrible, stupid, irrelevant or anything like that. I just meant to put out other information that can give the public an idea of what to do in case they run into similar problems. For example, my first post. I gave suggestions on how to get Henchmen unstuck, and to remind people to make sure to watch for them becoming stuck. I didn't state that directly to Yotian, through his popular belief, but rather to the entire community, so that any child that would see it, would know what to do when henchies got stuck, or why they got stuck in the first place, because many times...children don't know those things. I was just keeping an open eye and mind to things that would help the community...old and young...
I didn't mean to set off Yotian, though I someone did through a suggestion.

If your computer DOESN'T lag, then you should QUICKLY be able to tell if a henchmen is stuck, instead of waiting 5 minutes late when you're dead and you go..."Oh no...he's stuck on the teleporter switch now I have half an hour of work ruined...poo monkeys." If your henchmen are getting stuck in monster waypoints(won't happen now, it's fixed supposedly, and I'm sure you got that term from the updates page, since you lack the knowledge to think up something like that yourself), then you better run as fast as you can to get to them, or they'll die. You say I have a low IQ, but you can't: 1. With your suggestion on Purple/Gold monsters, I would have to disagree, because it would give the PvPers another reason to complain about having to Grind 24/7 to find the Purple/Gold monsters to get the items they NEED for PvP O_o And this piece of work, I saved for last: This has easily become the most disrespectful post I have ever seen. I never misread your post, and I stand firmly behind everything I have said so far. |
yeah yoti, dont post that here the majority of the population on these fourms are trolls with nothing else to do, you should really send those suggestions to the devs, from the guildwars.com website, and maybe get a dialog started with them you will only get flamed on these forums for posting suggestions as seen above in the following quote. . .so save yourself the time and screw the fourms

Ill sum it up: online marriages = horrible thing. |
I agree that in-game marriages aren't necessary. Given the almost complete lack of role playing in this game, what would be the point? It would just result in a bunch of awful drama because some 15 year old boy would FINALLY figure out that the hot chick his male character married is played by a another guy and there would be name-calling and....blech....DRAMA.
If they ever implement marriage they need to implement divorce court. I could make some serious gold as a warrior/divorce lawyer lvl 18. ;-)
