ok just curious as to the style people are playing? Im not much of a pvp artist hehe. Is this game made for that? I preorderd it and i havnt had a chance to join in on a beta yet. Im more of the type who likes to go play and talk with others and just kinda enjoy the surrounding and kill bad guys hehe. Also dont know what PvE means is it the same as PvM? Also are people actually Rping with others? Or are they running around going "you suxorz" or "You just got Pwnd"? Just want to know ahead of time so I dont walk in trying to rp and someone go " Dude like you are stupid yo!".

PvP - Fun if you play with good players - Get into a decent guild and it will hapen.

PvP - Sucks if you play with sucky players ie pick up groups . Random mass hysteria where everybody is running around like headless chickens.

PvE Fun Fun Fun...but look for a good group and stay with it. It is very rewarding and fun.

The only reason I play PvP is to get thet Celestial Sigil.

Hey rixxxster, lay off the new guys. We're trying to encourage people, not chase them away, especially when they have a genuine question. Besides, we were all GW newbies at one time or another, and we all had the same questions then. And if you were just kidding, or joking around, then say so--that way people won't take offense...

Anyway, on to the real question. Vex, I play mostly PvE, but that is probably because the game is still in Beta and I don't have a group of friends in yet. Once I get friends going (and have a good chance to make more friends in-game) then I plan on spending some quality PvP time.

As to the existence of excessive leet speek, I haven't really noticed that it is very common yet. But it is hard to say right now what it will be like once the game is actually released. The fact that we're playing in beta kind of means that we're only playing with people with the means to pre-order (or win access keys on-line, etc), but who knows what it will be like once the game hits shelves... Hope it stays tame.

Okay--my bad, I think I just realized the rixxxster was asking a newbie question and not commenting on one--my bad. Apologies...

First of all, PvE = "Player versus Environment". Which essentially means PvM.

Secondly, you don't have to RP in this game. But no... People don't talk like little Counter-Strike babies. Nor do they do horrible gheto impersonations or talk in 1337 sp33k. Most people are just sort of quiet. It's sort of annoying.

Finally, if you heard that the game is purely PvP minded, go back and impale whoever told you that with a rusty shiv. This game is for all sorts of players. The PvPers are the most vocal and obvious because PvP is the really challenging part of the game - as in any game and it is very strategicly based (see builds section). PvE has an enormous place in this game in the way of Missions, Explorable Areas, and lots of other random stuff.
