Will guild wars have hackers like diablo did since its a no pay game?

Does anyone know if there will be closed servers for the game?
I'm playing Sacred for the moment and we have open and closed servers in this game. With open servers your char data is saved in your pc whereas closed servers your char data is saved in the servers thus preventing many forms of hacks/cheats, if not all.

Also, each of your actions (walking, attacking, casting, etc, etc) is verified by the server, so you can't do anything that you're not allowed to do.
The data the servers sends you is the bare minimum you have to know, so things like maphack are out of question (and you got the radar anyway

If you want to stop things like botting etc., you should have made it clear that it isn't allowed. Therefor there should've been an EULA or TOS or whatever you wanna call it.
To ensure that ppl will follow the rules set by Anet, the rules should be:
- understandable
Since it's an US company (or so I believe, pls correct if I'm wrong), they should use English and have proper translators translate them in other languages.
- read in only ONE way
One of my old games had a TOS you could do anything with. It even contained the phrase: "If you violate the TOS, you MAY be banned."
- measurable
Define the terms you're using. Don't say that using bots will get you kicked. A phrase like "Using third party programs that can take over InGame-functions will result in banning your char."
- have consequences
Rules have consequences, breaking the rules is facing consequences. And Anet, pls be consistent in this. When two ppl break the same rule, they will have the same punishment. Again referring to one of my old games:"GM has good day, you lucky. No punishment, but don't break rule again mkay?"
- uphold by certain individuals
Install GM / Admin / Godlike Creatures that will check if players are not violating the rules and that punish them if they do.
I'm really looking forward to the EULA / TOS to see what they made of it

I already posted up an exact description awhile ago (not on this forum), and it still works great.
What people don't realize, it the best hacks for games are never released, they're kept secret within a small group of friends, or even two people. If the community is oblivious to it, and it's not noticible like speedhack-noticible, prepare to get away with it for the rest of your life, plus tax.

Cheating will just ruin GW, I've cheated for years on console games, and on DII admittedly to try it out and such, but it was boring, online play for me is clean, and always will be.
I'm cutting off my cheating as much as possible lately, it just isn't fun to cheat anymore on anything. You beat everything, then what challenge is next? Nothing.
It is going to be very dissapointing if there are a few guilds or what not who manage to find cracks for Guild Wars and start cheating, but Hopefully A-Net can stop it, as much fun as cheating is sometimes, it just isn't worth it here, its more fun to just join a group of friends and have at it. Sure you might die alot, I sure did last BWE, when trying to take on the Charr behind the northern wall in Pre-Searing Ascalon, but it helped build my character up quite a bit, and hopefully this time around if we can get a couple more people, we'll have even more fun back there.
Lets just see how long GW can withstand the cheaters wrath, because it won't last forever cheat-free, somehow someone will find SOME way to ruin it, but hopefully not...
Oh yeah, btw, thats really sad that there are already hacks and the game isnt' even released yet... tsk, tsk, tsk...
I want to do some PvP, but not if I'm going to get my bottom beaten to a bloody pulp every time... o.o;

i do think that it will be harder for people to hack this game, meaning that hackers will not want to make a hack public only to be fixed through streamlining tech. this means that the hacker will keep it for himself or a few friends and at least the script kiddies wont be running rampant like they where in d2 lod. (i dont agree with hacking, but this will at least keep it in the vast minority)

They have an article on gamespy about bots used in Star Wars Galaxies, its well worth the read: http://archive.gamespy.com/fargo/aug...pg/index.shtml
It proves that a bot in GW is definately possible.

No need to worry Its server side, so that reduces the hackablity by 90% or so.

if someone where to bot and gain skill points then they will be able to use the gold they get form botting for buying skills. an easy way to gain all the skills in the game.
still think there is no reason to bot?

See it takes money to realy make good defenses vs bots/cheaters so where is guildwars gonna get it since there is no monthly pay im just wondering i realy hope a good game like this doesnt get ruined. Theres are many ways a person can ruin the economy gold is guildwars economy atleast in the beta. If gold wasnt worth anything then people would want rare items or something not easy to get. I dunno i realy like it when gold is actually worth something or tehre arent hacked weapons, items, skills.

Bots yes, are very possible, hacks are differnt, hacks are when the player can modify his skill directly or steal stuff from trade.
No matter what security system you have, Bots/Autoers will find there way in.
They can however be taken to justice if the players help and report suspicous being so that they can be monitored.

so we start a witch hunt?
it will be hard to program a bot for this game, and once a type of bot is found then it can be killed. so agin i think that if the boters and hackers are smart they will keep it hidden, if not then they lose there baby.

hopefully not..........hacks destroyed D2

Unfortunately it's inevitable. People will macro, as to rather they can 'hack' the game. That depends on the strength of A-Net's security built into their code. With the overwhelming attaction folks have for playing a game just to see if they can exploit it, you can bet there will be macro programs out.
Edit
Actually after a quick Google Search there are already some things out there. Sad....

Are you talking about the Elementilists XP thing? I saw that, too, but whats the point? It doesn't take you that long to get to 20.
