There Are No Bad Combos Only Bad Players!!!

There are some combos that are indeed truly bad. Spreading your points too thin usually causes (or contributes to) a truly abysmal build.
But no build is permanent. Through the magic of refund points, you too can recover from a heinously bad character build.

- It's trolling
- It's totally unargumented.
- It's simply untrue

Perhaps, but it is a common conception. And when a class is nerfed as Rangers were in Beta from 1 of the top classes to 1 of "SUPORT" class it makes people wary of the whole class. The DMG output is pretty low (some will say all you need put 3 or 4 preps up while your team is nuked to oblivion), and Interupts if you count arrows flight times and in PvP casters usually taking quiker casting spells then Mesmer interupts are faster and usually have a bonus of stealing energy or doing dmg. Pretty much any War/Ranger build. Why go secondary ranger? The only skills there to compliment your Warrior are Apply Poison, running skills, and Tiger's Fury. Why not go /nec for enchantment removal, or /monk for smiting or res.

Why not Ranger? Troll Unguent can be pretty good for healing. Apply Poison simply rules.
A pet in PvE can be a great tank. Maybe you can use a bow for most of the time, allthough you will get into energy trouble - but then you can get into melee. Or you can use traps - they are not that bad. Many possibilities... I don't think it is bad, it may be hard to play, because Rangers need Energy and without expertise their skills cost too much - but there are skills that are pretty usable... Of course, there is nothing wrong with W/N or W/Mo - but as you said, this build would be built totally different Vermilion Okeanos
Mo/R are one of the bad cookie out there... R/Mo is pretty good, but Mo/R are just... tough luck...
The only thing I can think of with Mo/R are probably the usage of melandru's resilence and maybe healing spring inside a ward but other can do better on those part... Hell, anything you to do with your ranger 2ndary is not going to save u from being targeted first and beat to the ground. I Am A Sasquatch
i'm a warrior/ ranger with troll and apply poison. i'd like to play your overplayed, stupid warrior monk build in pvp anytime.

Don't tell him that, or he'll pack distracting blow and you won't stand a chance 8)

Well, although there's alot of potentially bad necro builds, I decided to come up with one that's not just bad, but downright useless
1~ Dark Bond 2~ Blood of the Master 3~ Infuse Condition 4~ Taste of Death 5~ Verata's Sacrifice 6~ Awaken the Blood 7~ Blood Renewal 8~ Offering of Blood ( elite ) Attribute points: 14 Curses 12 Death 12 Soul Reaping Guaranteed to be full of fun and suprises for all dargon

I'm a ranger / any class I want to be, I'd love to help you with that

I think the only reason W/R gets flak is because in my oppion it works much better the otherway around, Expertise + flurry/frenzy + Zealous sword = Perpetual energy machine... granted you lose the punching power of strength
for a W/R only one of its Attributes actually does anything for the Warrior, and then only a few spells in there are worth keeping, So if I had to say any profession combination was slightly weaker comming out of the gate I'd have to say it was W/R , not that a good player couldn't overcome the hinderence, they'd just have to work really hard. And for the Record, I have not once played a W/Mo =P Myodato
I have to say that without doubt the worst combination is Runs Ahead/Can't Self-Heal.

If you can use three skills from your secondary profession, then that secondary profession is far from being useless. Plenty of reasons to play W/R, Troll Unguent with +9 health regen beats warrior's healing signet. Ranger's Dust Trap and Throw dirt makes other melee warriors go blind. So W/R is a great build.

Apply Poison is a decent skill, but I'd rather take Judge's Insight, or Rend/Strip.

No. 1v1 is pointless.

Troll ungruent on a primary warrior is near useless. If you're running from somebody then you'll need the health regen, you're warrior is either outnumbered or very crappy if you're running from somebody. A better alternative healing technique? Vigorous spirit, gain hp while attacking. You get to focus on killing power while healing yourself.
Of course, this isn't the "Tips & Hints" Topic, so no more ramble in that category. It is quite hard to say worst build ever, since it'd have to be a build with either a empty skill bar or a necro self-suicide blood fanatic. But i'll give warrior a shot. Stats: 12 Swordmanship, 10 tactics, 8 healing. From left to right: Frenzy, Sevre artery, Gash, Final Thrust, Orizon of healing, Healing Signet, Bonetti's defense, and some kind of ressurect. Sounds farmiliar huh? It's almost like a pre-made char *COUGH COUGH*, except without a pesky monk elite. Pros: You can look cool with a long sword and shiny armor. You can ressurect and heal yourself. Cons: You deal little damage, you cannot chase down enemies, if your getting smacked to the point where you need healing, your stances won't save you, and you'd run out of energy trying to spam healing. |
