Special Bow Problem

I am a typical Shock Archer, which uses the following skills mainly to create a AoE Shock dmg:

Favourable Winds + Conjour Lightning + Barrage (Elite)

the other skills are changing in each situation, but most of them are disrupting skills.

to max my damage i am planing to use a SECIAL BOW:

- it should be a short bow/half moon (because of fire rate) with 15-28 max dmg.

now i have some special questions about the addition bow parameters:
it would be nice to have a bow with

shock damage + energy steal

how can i realize this, because shock dmg and energy stealing
are both BOW STRING UPGRADES...
i definitely need to know what happens if i upgrade
a vampiric (purple/yellow) bow with shock strings
or a shock (purple/yellow) with those energy stealing strings (Zealous).

it would be very nice if s.o. could help me in this very special case of upgrading a bow

If you try to put a string on a bow that has a string on it already, it will remove the old string. No not move it to your inventory to use later, it will permantly delete it.

BTW: Not sure if you knew this but zealous doesn't steal energy, it just gives you energy.

The old string will be destroyed. So be sure you want to lose it before you replace it.

So this rare (yellow or purple) bows,
which have specials like shock or vampiric already when you find them, will
loose their shock/vampiric abilities when you use other strings on them?

Yes, The big thing with gold/purple bows is the Damage Mods that they have on them as well as they usually have a lower Marksmanship

i think i will make a simply
shock half moon bow + some defence bow grips
and if i can find one with + 20% dmg when above 50% health
i will use this upgrades on this bow.


finaly s.th. that confuses me... i have read somewhere about speed upgrades for weapons.... do they exist? ...and are there some information about them?

as far as i know, there are no speed upgrades... im pretty far in the game and have never heard/seen these type of upgrades before, if there real i would love them
