Questions about ascending

Ok, my main character is a N/ME16 and I am currently at The Wilds. My local LAN center's clan (which i'm in) is having a nice big PvP tournament in 2 weeks. I've been told that I need to "get ascended" before that date so I can play in it. I'm not sure what getting ascended is, although I've heard it said many times... is it a searing-type thing where you can't go back to old places, or is it just a special area?

My second question is, given my level and the time I have, is it possible to get ascended in the next two weeks (I play about 10 hours a week)? Also, is there an optimum level in which I should go through with this? I was low level when I went to post-searing and it made the game harder on me.

once you finish the wilds region, all the main quests in the jungle out there, you will get whisked off to the desert, once you complete that...tada ascended

just find a good group of guys and power through the missions to the desert and then do those quests how you want

hmm in 20 hours...yes..if you stick to missions and then when you hit the desert stick to the ascending quests....gl..i am still try to myself...i keep getting side tracked with pvp..and trading....man i love using dot dot dot... =)

Also a worthy note: Ascension basically means 'max. level'. You can ascend without the aid of quests, just power level yourself to 20. If you've got about 20 hours left before the tourney, you should be able to manage 4 levels.

do not worry about level. just have someone run you to augry rock, from there you have access to all 3 ascension quests. once you ascend you automatically go to level 20.

PS someone in your guild should know that ascension has nothing at all to do with PvP as your PvP character will be level 20 no matter what level your other character is at and it will have access to all the skill and runes you have unlocked to this point.

your goal should be to unlock as many skills and runes as you can before the tournement and not worry about ascension. (even though after asension there are a lot more skills for you to learn)
