Stacking items
Sethryle
One of my characters seems to be encountering the problem of having duplicate items that won't stack.
More specifically...I'm around the area with Redwood Guardians and have a stack of 2 maguma (SP?) spider webs, and a stack of 1 maguma spider web. When one is dragged to the other and dropped they simply swap places. This is also happening with ebon spider legs. I did take a break from this character for about 3 weeks or so, but don't see why that'd change anything. Each item shows a value of 20 per item (stacks of 2 items have a value of 40, a stack of 1 has a value of 20)
Anyone else finding this?

different armors?
different creatures?
I mean, I had always thought that my 4 avicara scalps were the same as my tengu scalps...but that's just because I can't read.

I have the same problem with some of my fur squares

I'm positive they are the same items. Same item name, same item value, same description and everything, but they aren't stacking. I've tried putting them in storage to stack, taking them out and stacking in my inventory, but no matter what I try they don't stack. I've tried a shift drop and a ctrl drop, but neither seem to have much use in GW. I'm clueless!

I experienced the same issues at the beginning of the month. I think something got changed (although its not really visable) during the June 1st updates. I just decided to sell off whichever pile was no longer stacking, since then I haven't had this issue.
Hells Soldire
they dont stack cuz its a different value...... CHECK AT THE MERCHANT... NOW WOULD YOU STACK BOBS ARMOR WITH PETES? I THINK NOT!

I noticed this with some items after the last patch. All the stuff I've been collecting for collectors won't stack. The stuff acquired pre-patch won't stack with the stuff I've acquired post-patch.
I didn't know what to do about it. I just sold all my pre-patch items since the new items won't stack with them.

I had a problem with items not stacking after the big June update. For example Mossy Mandibles found before the update would not stack with those found after. This applied to all trade/collector type items, but not crafting materials.
Arvydas
i have some items that won't stack after the update too.. the values are different also. i think in your case the internal representation for the two seemingly identical items changed so they don't stack..

I had the same problem with Charr Hides. If there are more than 1 type of Charr Hides then you tell me where to get the other. It must have been a change in the update. It really aggrovated me since it took up a lot of room and I couldn't trade them properly.

it not just collector items, after the update, i have had wood and silk that wouldnt stack, and putting it in the stash does nothing, its some problem from the patch
Santosh
I've had this problem, too.
I think prior to the last patch, an item was coded differently than if you looted the same item after the patch. Even if they are the same name, they won't stack because of it.

Well thanks for all the constructive input...
as for Hells Soldire, read through a post before spouting off...for one, armor doesn't stack, even if it has the same armor value, merchant value, name, etc...Secondly, the items have the same value, same name, same image, same description. These identical items are not stacking, there is a problem. If they were a different name, image, value, description, etc.. this post would never have been made.
Anyhow, it's good to know I'm not the only one being troubled by this. Hopefully another patch can fix what we see going wrong.

happens to me too

We need to sticky this since this question comes up after every patch (or just teach people to use the search button)
Anyway...everytime they do a patch, for some reason random stackable items no longer stack with stuff you had pre-patch. All items after the patch will stack with each other. And no, it doesnt matter how big the patch is, it happens every patch.

Since this seems to happen after every patch or so wouldn't it seem kind of a waste for all of us people that collect things to keep them? My main character always has a stack of all the collector items and now I've got double stacks of items taking up a lot of my inventory space. I hadn't played her for a few weeks to notice this happened again until this past weekend. Has anyone noticed if the collectors are accepting the nonstacking items? All my items are low quantity stacks as I've just moved into a new area so I can't test this theory. I want to know if I should just sell the "old" items as worthless junk.
