It'll run fine for about 5 minutes and closes every time. Every other game I've tried works fine. 3DMark worked 100% and I played America's Army an hour with no problems.

I went from a GF4 to a 9500 softmodded to 9700. I've tried the 5.5 cats and the 5.4s I've also reinstalled the game. Any suggestions?

EDIT: some specs
2400+ Mobile @ 2.5Ghz
Asus A7N8X w/ onboard Soundstorm Audio
512MB Cas 2.5 DDR400
Windows XP SP2

Softmod, what is that? If it's some sort of software you run on PC, remove it, then try. If it's part of the hardware somehow, then no idea.

With regards to drivers, did you completely remove all old drivers before the install. Using Driver cleaner after the uninstall, to remove any left over files.
Then replace the card and do the new install?

With regards to your system, it should be running fine as I have almost the same system, except i run an x800pro.

Softmod is using software to flash the card so it becomes something else, usually supposedly better. To me, it's just another form of overclocking and it comes with a price - instability.

Guild Wars has been known to not play nice with overclocked graphics cards. Try underclocking back to stock settings and see what happens, it has helped a surprising number of people so far.

After further testing this card is causing problems in other games as well. Even as a 9500 vanilla it's causing crashes. So I'm sending that card back to the seller and this will be a good excuse to order a 6600GT.

Sounds like a plan! But you'll be annoyed if the graphics card is not the problem. Could be processor, RAM, BIOS settings, paging file, hard disk, anything.

I put the old GF4 in and everything is fine. I also looped Prime95 and Memtest86 to check system stability and everything is fine. Newegg is overnighting the 6600gt tonight, woot.

In that case I guess congratulations are in order.
