I haven't tried it myself, but a guild mate tells me it makes the screen go all weird and funky. Yea, he used those words.

It just gets blurry, kind like when you are high. Drink more and effects gets more profound

Drink about 12 and you'll notice a bit more of a chance.
I must say I love running around looking like a midget as the walls and floors twist in all sorts of shapes, and after images of everything appear as I turn while my character (now 20ft tall) says "I'm king of the world!"

Here's a couple screenshots of the new Ale effects. And I only drank 5 lol, I heard the max you can drink is 10, but that's 2k gold total

I don't know if the max you can do is 10, but I just bought and used 12, I couldn't tell if the effects got any more extreme at 12 rather than 10, or if it just didn't count.
But hell, what's more fun to say "I just drank 12 dwarven ale" or "I just drank 10 dwarven ale".
