with all the things the above poster said. A-net so far has been the most player population friendly and responsive team in any MMO I have played (PS,SWG,WoW,MxO). I suspect the reasons for this are simply the lack of a monthly charge. They have no incentive to keep you grinding and burn you out on the game. They already have your $50 so they figure it should be fun. I personally dont have the time to grind for superior runes so being able to get one from an NPC instead of having to search all the spam is sweet!

Go A-net!

I think the Ai & exp fix is gr8, even tho i done that quest<_< ,but i have to query why this was a prob?

"Dropped players replaced by henchmen (for PvP)"

Some times its near impossible to find a blue dot, let alone a complete party that can atleast play its role in the team if only basically.. (both arena & roleplay maps)
perhaps a Training arena for when servers are not active where you can fight a "mirror team" of course this would be after ascention... (which i got today , wasted my mirror first go with 30hp>>>> to spare ^_^) but yeah finding a good team is still my biggest obstacle, nvr tried henchies in pvp but in roleplay id still be lvl10 without em.

that aside , They're doing a great job fixing thier Pathing AI & as well as many other updates , Keep em Coming!

If any Anet devs or messenger-monkeys happen to read this thread, please pass the word on behalf of the community (I'm sure I'm not being presumptuous here) and on behalf of gastropods everywhere:

Good job!!!

It is VERY heartening to know that the people who sold you a game pay attention to what players say. It certainly makes me look forward to the expansions.

Sure some of the patching has been great.

But they are making stuff easier for the noobs. Like the infusion runs how it's so much easier to capture elite skills. It's starting to piss me off. How I strugged through some parts the noobs are doing it with no sweat.

I saw a guy last night level up 5 times in two hours because of these updates.

It's almost not worth it anymore? I think I'm just gonna do strictly pvp at least.

I feel the same. I have never seen any games developer as responsive as ANet. Haven't seen any donation programme on their site, though...

I've played a buch of different MMORPG's over the years, and Anet is the pinnacle when it comes to support. Timely (Despite some complainers in this fourum), they listen to their playerbase, and they respond when called upon.

Check out the abyssmal support from Blizzard when it comes to WOW. Only Sony comes close to Blizzard's pitiful track record on support. I Still remember when Sony teleported a buch of SWG players into deep space to quell a protest on one of their servers. Talk about an evil Empire...LOL

Anyway, I also want to thank our Anet patron goddess, Gaile Gray, who checks in here quite frequently. She's always pleasant, knowledgable, and helpful.

Exemplary service, Anet. Thank you,

Entropia

I would pay 1000's for items of cool clothing or a pair of boots which have twinkly lights when you run, lol.

Have you all seen this interview?
This answers alot of confusion i had. Looks like this fix to farming is just a stop-gap and things will be implemented soon to make us all happy.

To answer your question in a confusing, albiet no less correct manner, "Yes and no." Every community - to which this one is no exception - is useful as a gauge of player sentiments. The trick comes in realizing that all forums have their own unique character, and some may cater more heavily towards one audience than another - one must then consider all of them, and find the relevant truths between them.

Having said that, it is fair to say that these forums are read - certainly a good deal more than I expect most people believe. But it is important to remember that the Designers have their own... well, designs for the game. Try as I might, I can't seem to imagine them in the office, having a pillow fight and a slumber party that leads into a game of truth or dare... 'Truth,' says the first. "How do we fix this situation?" asks the second. To which the first replies "Heck if I know." And then they promptly go back to hitting each other with pillows and giggling.

Rather, I think that just as players help them to identify the problems, they also help them to identify the solutions. When a lot of people visibly support an idea - then that becomes a more attractive candidate among a list of possibilities. In that way, players have certainly shaped this game - and no doubt will continue to do so.

I agree. A.Net is doing a great job, and I'm joining the ranks of people that are almost feeling guilty about having free online pay. I love the fact that the pay-by-month games update rarely, and when they do they shut the site down for three days then bring it back up with changes absolutely no one wanted. However the game with free online pay stays on the ball and doesn't even have to prevent you from logging on to make changes.

Good for you! Keep it up.

I have to say this update came as a pleasant surprise. I'd tried Villainy a number of times with henchmen and always ended up having to map out of it after dying a couple of times when my henchies got trapped in mid-air, so I decided to come back to it after henchmen were fixed... and to my pleasant surprise, I also get 3500 more XP points!

(Is it just me or has Alesia actually decided to give up on the tanking career path she was so intent on before?)

Thanks a lot for this sweet thread! It's really heartwarming to read the positive thoughts, and to see that you notice and approve of what's going on, like frequent updates, no down time, and a positive move in directions that you are helping us define.

And here are a few bits of information:
  • Do the devs visit this forum?
    Yes. Every day.
  • Are you reading our suggestions?
    Yes. Every day.
  • Do our suggestions and concerns influence what gets updated?
Yes. However... That doesn't mean that "the squeaky wheel gets the grease" and that if someone screams across multiple fan forums, we'll rush to address his personal issue. That doesn't mean that if someone posts suggestions and then PM's certain staff members *cough* those suggestions will bubble to the top of the bottle. Or that using lots of swear words will catch our eye. But we're paying attention, in a provable sense, and you can continue to count on that.
  • Are you going to fix (insert bug here)?
Yes, we'll continue to work on bugs until we smite the very last insectoid. As you know, the best place to report bugs is through support.guildwars.com.
  • Are the rumours true? Do you really have ale-drinkers and pillow fighters on the team?
    I'm not telling.
Thanks again for the kind and supportive thread -- you've made all of us smile!

Gaile, you don't need to thank us. The point is we're thanking you for listening. You're doing a great job and I for one haven't had a moment of doubt about my decision to purchase and play this game. You just keep doing that voodoo that you do so well.

After 6+ years of being told by SOE, "If we deemed you had anything to contribute of importance, we'd beat it out of you."
Anet is like a breath of fresh air in a otherwise very odiferous room.

Well done lads!
