If Hench share gold, they need to help pick it up.

Plain and simple.

If they have no interest in helping to pick it up, they have no reson to share it.

I can hear it now.

"Stupid hench aggroed 50 mobs when she ran out to pick up that gold! Arrrggh!" "Dammit Stefan, what are you doing picking up loot while we're still fighting?!"

Only when dead Tallani, only when dead... course even human players stop to loot in the middle of a fight.

But yes, when no fighting is going on, henchmen should pick up the loot nearest them...

Yeah! Those greedy henchmen need to start keeping up their end of the bargin. I mean I go out to the battle field every day and work my butt off killing monsters, looting chest, fighting my fingers to the bone and what thanks do I get? Henchmen that are too lazy to bend over and pick up a little bit of gold. In my day.....

LOL! I was thinking the exact same thing last night. They pick up their drops so quick you don't even get to see them, why don't they bloody well help me pick up all this gold littering the battlefield when we're done fighting? Lazy bastards...

Sometimes creatures don't drop items when you ahve henchmen in the group. It randomly assigns drops to players, and if that random engine selects alesia, stefan, etc. it just doesn't drop anything.

Oh that's where you are wrong. It drops for them, they pick it up, and you never get to see what they got and try to buy it off them (if they don't need it).

Speaking of which, what if? What they find, you could buy from them, if it not of their primary class?

Anyway, back to the subject.

IMO gold doesn't need to drop at all. What does the gold dropping accomplish? It's not like an item where everyone gets to see it before that lucky person picks it up. Why drop gold, it should automatically be spread among the group and the same little announcement should be made, that way everyone knows how much was dropped, and subsequently picked up and distributed. No one ever leaves gold behind so why make it drop?

I agree with cc.pyro. Gold shouldnt have to be dropped, should just be spread among the party. It will save time and the trouble (in case someone tries to pick up gold and aggros another group of enemies).

Yes, I'm with Pyro on this too. There's no need to see little bags of gold on the ground, we just need the message "XX Gold has been shared among your party"

Sorry, but yes, it does... they want their Rare Axe of Whatnot also

In response to OP, gold should be like henchies picking up items, but it should say how much gold got distributed (or even better for the ones not mathematically inclined, it could say how much gold only you got )

Better just to share whatever pitiful gold you find... what if you zone out, and then have to go back to town? Waste of gold...

With the current system, the henchmen have to actually fight to earn their keep

If the henchmen are mooching off MY loot and MY gold, regardless of whether or not they were hired for any money and that they actually fight, I demand the right to a full refund of all loot and gold every time Alesia makes a stupid, obvious mistake in choice of healing, and every time one of the stupid ranged henchmen spazz out and attract a horde of monsters. Since I also have a healing monk, it's not like my dying is entirely my own fault

I know I'm quoting WoW again, but I would love to see that added. In WoW when I played during the beta it use to say "Party share's 20 Gold", and then in gold colour "You have been given 5 gold" or whatever.

Yeah, I'd like to see this too, but if they do they should only pick up gold that they walk near, as not to stray off.

But better yet, y not just automaticly put the gold in your account? There is absolutly no reason not to pick it up, and its going to get divided evenly no matter what, they could save us the trouble of bending over to get it......... sounds lazy........ but it is ( /emote uses magnetic wallet)

I'm totally for the " Win the game for me button", but along the way I wanna see those henchmen pickin up some gold.
I think the effect of realism would be lost if the money were to go directly into your account. Unless the were to add super-mini worm holes with coin slots that you could drop gold into to at any time. Just a thought

They still get paid to stare at the sky if you pay up front too.

I presume you mean if you don raise them.

If you wanted to leave them dead, you should have not left with them.

it's not that we shouldn't have to, it's that why waste the time making the henchmen pick it up when you could just not have it drop.

I guess I don't get any real joy out of seeing money drop.

Many people would argue that seeing items drop, and choosing what to pick up, is kind of fun, even if you are joking about how bad they are. Money, on the other hand, is a real chore to pick up, and I refuse to leave it myself.

I would agree that having it automatically deposit into your account is a reasomable way to avoid the possibility of the henchmen aggro'ing the MOBs.

Not to mention how much easier it would be to code that answer, than some extra AI to pick up money drops, while avioding aggro'ing the MOBs

You are getting the henchies for free, and in other games you have to PAY for them. Getting a small(?) amount of share of the gold + items made up for their free service. Would you get henchies if each one cost 100g for a single use?
