Grawl petitioners/heretics/high priest?

I've noticed a band of grawls called "grawl petitioners" near king's watch in post searing while playing with my R/me. At the time I had Regent Valley defence, Red cloaked deserter, vanguard equpment, and Cities of Ascalon quests open. They were in a band of 5-6 and attacked another variant called "grawl heretics."
I didn't think of much of it and went to complete these 4 quests which required me to kill a grawl group near king's watch monument. In this group there was a "grawl high priest." After a while though they petitioners made it all the way to where the high proest was and were just standing around. I'm pretty sure something would have happened if I didn't killed the priest. However I could not get any of these 3 variants of grawl to reappear after I accepted the rewards for those 4 quests. Has anyone noticed this or been able to get a quest/storyline out of this scenario before?

bump. Still looking for any info on these. I haven't been able to see them with my Mo/me so maybe it's a Ranger only thing?

Only time I've really been in that particular area was for the CoA quest, so can't say that I've obtained any quest or plot having to do with them.
I have seen a grawl priest before and heretics and they were in the same map area (not specifically that spot)

I saw the petitioners and heretics yesterday, but had no quest associated with them.
Isn't there supposed to be a new quest added in that general area? I don't know who gives it though.

That's just one of those fun little things you see. I don't think it has any significance.

Forgive me, these screenshots aren't too great. I was more concerned with staying as far away as possible at the time. I am a Nec/Ranger so maybe being a Ranger has something to do with it. Is there anything they could be petitioning in reference to a quest? Perhaps the presence of the grawl in the king's lookout? Or maybe it's something to do with the crystal they're all standing around? Maybe they're disputing the destruction of nature as a result of the searing? These are all long shots but I enjoy a bit of conjecture.

Actually it looks more like they're standing around the tree. That isn't Melandru's statue is it? Actually it looks a fair bit like it from the google image search images I'm referring to.
