Eternal Bow - Refire rate 2.5 sec - Range 100' - Flight Time .75 sec
Shadow Bow - Refire rate 2.5 sec - Range 80' - Flight Time .50 sec
Ascolon Bow - Refire rate 2.0 sec - Range 70' - Flight Time .65 sec
At least these are what I was told. I hope it helps. I would say for a vampiric string a short/half moon bow will be your best beat. At the same point unless your using at least a 4 string you will lose more then you gain. A -1 health deg = 2 life per second and a 2second refire rate will mean you will lose 4 life before you fire again so anything less then 4 then it will do more harm then good.

The point I was making with the vampiric string is that unless your getting 4 or 5 you will be losing more life. You don't want to give anyone else the advatage of them having more life then you, because your losing life to the bow+ there attacks.

the ascalon bows are all different, not one particular type. I have a long/short/flat bow that are all called ascalon bow.

The one outside port sledge gave me one that acts like a short bow, but it's +15% while enchanted. All the collectors give that mod right? Is there any with +15% above HP?

AHHA I knew those storm, shadow, and eternal bows blew!
I'd much rather have 2 second speed than 00B3R 1337 OMFG HAX LAWL LAWL GOSU PWNT K THX looking bow.
When in 10 seconds I attack once more than you, who will be laughing then! MUHAHAHAHAHA.
Okay I'm done.

I've tested the shadow bow, and its the same thing as a hornbow. Also the primaguide stating the hornbow having 10% armor penetration is correct, I've tested that too. I didn't stop there, I tested the shadowbow dmg and it also has 10% armor penetration. shadowbow=hornbow in every way, the flight time is slower than a composite. Notice the patter, shadowbow has a medium arc which is curved while the compositebow is low and is completely straight.
Data:
The test was against minatours in forst gate, using barrage, marksmenship 12, using clean max dmg bows measuring only critical hits:
Flatbow 45 dmg
Hornbow 50
Shadowbow 50
Used Judges Insight to give my flatbow armor penetration with barrage and the dmg did go up:
Judges Insight
--------------
Flatbow 68 dmg
HornBow 73 dmg (stacked 30% total armor penetration)
Shadowbow 73 dmg (stacked 30% total armor penetration)
If I had a warrior/ranger, I'd be able to test a flatbow with 10% armor penetration, but I'm sure the damage would equal the same thing (50 dmg).
Conclusion, hornbows do infact have 10% armor penetration AND shadowbows have it too AND it stacks with other armor penetration modifiers like judges insight. Most likely the ivory bow is the same thing.
Someone should retest ethereal bow and stormbow to see if they're the same, i think one might be longbow and the other flatbow. I dont' have them to test.
