I personaly think the map drawing should be for the leader only, and you should have an option to turn pings off.

I find it to be INCREDIBLY annoying when there's an idiot on the team that spams that crap through the whole map... can't see where the enemies are coming from... people end up aggro'n two groups... i mean... it's annoying, and you can't tell who's doing it...

It's the same sort of thing, as a terrorist... the only reason they do it, is cause they think they wont get caught, it's a little childish act of anger/frustration.

Well, I believe there IS a way to change your color of pings on the radar. It defaults to that reddish color, but last night someone was pinging the radar with yellow pings as well.

Maybe there's an option in customization that I haven't found yet to change the color or your pings.

That could be your answer if you're looking for someway to make yours (or the leaders) pings stand out. At least until everyone finds it.

yellow pings are made by the game to show some stuff to you during missions (ex. the mobs you have to fight right before you reach Rurik in Borlis Pass and the Shining Blade Scout in the Iron Mines both get pinged yellow by the game when you get close to them.)

Meh I like drawing on the radar.

Whenever I'm dead and my team is taking forever I play tic-tac-toe with myself (or whoever joins in).

There's also the blue pings for mission items such as the Scepter Orr and the Crystals in Elona's Reach.

i think they ( them, thy whoever ) should, could, have it so if you ping the "radar" within 10/60 of a second it wont work, so, at least you wont have to hear "ping ping ping ping ping ping" only "ping"

That wouldn't work since alot of missions are fast paced and require people to alert the team to incoming dangers etc.

Easiest answer is to use henchmen, get in a guild or find some friends to play with. Nothing worse than pickup teams IMO. Too many children who never had crayons to play with.

Each person should have their own color; so you know who is drawing on the radar. The problem is that it is anonymous, and as you know:

normal person + audience + anonymity = complete jerk

It'd be also nice if the little dots on your mini map also reflected these same colours so that you could know who is where.

I think that pretty much hits the nail on the head there. If you're going to go pubbing in any game(public gaming for those who don't know) then you should expect bumps in the road. And I think it would be wrong to deprive everyone of the ability to use that, and give the power to the leader only. I just say that because in a lot of the later missions nowadays, because GW is so new, there's still people who are experiencing missions for the first time, and it will be like that for a long, long time. And if one of those inexperienced people is the party leader, they could lead you into a trap and there's really nothing in your party could do about it. By leaving it open, you also allow the more experienced players lead the group to where they should go.

I disagree. Often, I'm the only one in the party that knows wtf I'm doing, for some reason. Either that, or no one remembers what to do no matter how many times they've done it. Do people still think it's a good idea to go out the right door to get the right crystal at Elona? Hahaha...

Agree with both of these. Nothing worse than someone saying over TeamSpeak, "Here it is." and then forgetting to ping the radar. You're left with 4-8 green dots wondering "O.k...so which is he?..."

I'd be good with different color pings and lines on the map.

Maybe not necessarily different colors, but shades maybe for the radar? I mean a red, green, blue, gold, purple, orange dots on my radar might get a bit distracting. Would look more like a game of Clue than anything else.

I think only having the leader draw would suck. Sorry, but sometimes the leader doesn't know where to go for the bonus, or what's next, or who's being completely mauled to death and needs help, doesn't have time to ask for said help before practically dying.

Maybe colour-coding based on position in the group (group member #1, #2, etc) would help figure out who's being a moron with the map, but limiting it to the leader only makes being the non-leader with info VERY difficult.

Don't ruin map drawing because some random dude drew a penis or whatever... just boot them from the group if you fail the mission (you can usually tell who it is, just have to be observant ). If you don't fail the mission, then no problem

If someone is immature enough to do stuff like that, don't have them on your team, simple.

I think the radar drawing right now is a wonderful and perfect idea. Obviously it will be abused, but I think this is one of the things we're going to have to bear with.
