Rune traders on crack?
EcPercy
I have noticed that we have a rune trader since the last update, but the prices... oh, the prices.
I wanted to get a major rune of absorption and the trader wanted 13+plat. Now that didn't bother me as much as the fact that if you were to try to sell the trader that same rune you would have gotten 25g for it.
Is this something that is going to be fixed???

no thats how traders work
the sell and buy price changes as runes are bough/sold

It's something like the pawn shop mentality. Pay low, sell high.

Great gold eater. This is helping the economy massively.
At the moment people have an insane amount of gold from farming or trying to get some good stuff for themselves. This way, the people spend money on buying some runes and returning some gold back into the system.
I myself spent some money on a major vigor rune and a superior markmanship rune. Oh, and a minor marksmanship rune, a minor healing, minor divine favor, minor protection, minor smiting...

Hmm, if you actually place a rune in the sell slot the trader will offer you a price.
The 25gp is default as a min buy price. Only a fool would sell to a trader that is offering 25gp for rune, as this basically means that everybody else has sold the trader that exact same rune.
My advise is simple, shop around, try different traders in different cities / districts to get the best sell / buy price.
I managed to purchase 3 major runes for my necromancer yesterday and they only cost 200gp each.
superior Vigor runes are the most expensive and worth the most gold to traders, the traders work of the supply and demand principle. The just stop some players from attampting to rip off the newer players.
I dont know the mark up for the traders, but they don't work off the same principles as RL, just because they purchased rune for 200gp, does not mean they will not sell than same rune for 150gp if they have an influx of them and plenty in stock, like wise there prices will increase per rune as they have less stock. (this also means their buy price increase)
Hope this explains alittle bit about the Traders.

I noticed that the runes the trader didn't carry were the ones he paid more for. I had a Warrior Rune of Minor Absorption, and I looked carefully through the list, and he didn't have any. He bought it from me for about 800 gold.
Everything else I had (Minor Illusion, Minor Inspiration, Minor Air, etc..) only would sell for 25-29 gold, so I hung onto those -- he was selling those for about 120gold, so perhaps he is overstocked.
There were two exceptions:
Minor Energy Storage -- he was selling for around 850g, I was able to sell it for 750g.
Minor Vigor -- he refused to take mine, but was selling them at around 900g.

so.... the displayed price ISN'T what you actually get???
I'm overrun with minor useless runes because it's all I ever get other than bows and hammers.

I have put runes in the box to sell to the rune trader and he would only buy it for the 25g that was mentioned. I'm not complaining or anything, I am just stating my experiences.

Oh, maybe you got confused by what I was saying.
The trader was selling to buyers for 850, and he was buying from sellers for 750 on occasion.
Which didn't make sense when other runes he was selling for 500 gold, or even major runes, which obviously are worth a good amount of money, he would only buy back for 25 gold.

i doens't like the fact he buy it for 25gp and sell it for way higher price. Maybe there should be a difference limit between the sell and buy price.

Lol try selling a Superior Vigor rune...it's not even possible...
Bloody Knight
Try tring to sell you minor vigors to the Trader she Refuses it. And it didn't help the economy it Destroyed it, without Rares the game is worthless, The only thing they need to add is an upgrade salsmen and a Gold Weapon Dealer. Ohh sure you want that 15-22 Zelous Fellblade Of Fortitude Damage +15% while Hp over 50 Armor +12 Damage +5 on all living things, Damage + 100 on rangers and Gives you all eliets.
Rhunex
The rune trader wasn't really an upgrade to the game made to make the economy better. Even though most people on this forum think it's suppose to be a gold sink, it's just suppose to reduce the grind players have to go through to get the items they want, as long as they've unlocked them previously.
Aaaaagh
Of course they are on crack, thats what happens when people have too much money. If they are buying at 25 and selling at 13000, they have too much money and therefore must purchase some type of drugs to ruin their good fortune. Don't you watch the news?
Rhunex
Yes I watch the news...and what they had on recently was hilarious...the one about the you-know-whos....they vandalized a van with their symbol but made it backwards, making it counter clockwise when it should be clockwise...real hilarious :P
