nah, thought it was some uber wicked shield (this guy was offering it) so i got him to hold it for me and got here asap for price check (hence the 'quick' PC plz), eventually found out from one of my guild friends that it was a collectors shield so didnt buy it...
but MCS, if you go to Lions arch qand wait about for 5 mins, its almost a guarantee that someone will be selling one, ive seen at least 5 today...

I honestly don't get it... A shield like this would go for SO much if it wasn't a collector. Why do people even buy shields with stats like this for like 50X as much as a crimson costs...
You would think at the very least that this would lower the price of shields...
If I could get a max damage short bow with 15% while health is above 50% from a collector, there is no way in HELL that I would go out and spend a few hundred thousand on one...

Reminds me of all these silly sorcs in d2 popping (having all their items fall to the ground) when they died because they wanted all their gear to look invisible. It was a strength glitch it was pretty funny to watch you get beatdown by a naked char though.

Its just that 16def whields w/ 45life while in stance, -2 dmg while in stance (str req) doesn't come from any collectors. IF I was a tactics user, I would definitely use this shield, Especially since peopl sell it for 1k at LA.

I guess but I always have at leat 9 tactics for my stances and such, which works perfectly since this shield gives you everything while in a stance.

i can't understand not wanting a collecters weapon considering the base stats are perfect and they all come without upgrades of any kind. you can take a +10 energy staff with 20/20 on it or a max dmg sword or hammer with +15%dmg and ADD upgrades i mean who wouldn't want to start with that kind of base for a weapon. that said considering perfect bases on items are only a collecter away it seems logical that the ony items really worth anything are above average stats on the upgrade items themselves. which makes me wonder why i keep seeing people shell out anything let alone vast sums for crappy base weapons whoes much better varieties can be had at collecters.

because collector items don't have as good base stats...
Like an ascalon bow, it's TECHNICALLY a short bow, same firing arc, same firing speed, but it DOESN'T have the same range.

ascalon bow could be different type of bow, long/short/flat etc depending on the collector you visit. they are max stat 15% enchanted or > 50% health, if u don't have the 100K+ like some people here, these are the bows you want. my ranger has 4 ascalon bows
i don't know what you talking about on range, ascalon bow that's a short bow is the same as shortbow, one that's long has the max 100' range like any other long bow.

check collectors at mineral springs, there are two bows there. one of the ascalon bow is short and 15% while health is above 50%. the other is a long bow of the same stat. yes, they are both called ascalon, they looked the same, but they are not the same type of bow. maybe i should charge you 50k for telling you this and save you tons of $$$
