Necro / Mesmer
or
Necro / Warrior

I want a Necromancer who is good at soloing, and can take care of himself on his own. Some one who can deal a good amount of damage, and be able to keep his health and energy up.

So...what yall think?

Thanks in advance.

Warrior is not worth it. Sure, you can Endure Pain, etc. but that requires attributes to pump that are essentially worthless.

Mesmer would be a much better choice. But the one I suggest would be monk or elementalist (for earth spells)

If you Enjoy playing a mesmer, its a very rewarding class. Although its not the simplest class to play, but maybe thats what intrigues you, as it did me.

Its all in what you want to do though. If you want a Rogue/Assassin Type Char, go N/W "not gimped... but not easy to play. So it gets the title Gimped from the ignorant"
The curses line works well with melee.

If you want to be able to lock down enemy monk/mesmer and/or have some mean health degens, then N/ME is prolly for you.

But i would go Me/N for the fast casting and cause Mesmers just look pimp.

"i'm irish so that last comment is very biased"

ok cool thanks a lot. Yeah fast cast is really cool...but i really like how the Necro looks and I think his armor is awsome.

Plus my best friend has a mesmer, and we play together a lot and I dont want it to look like I copied him, because I've already done it once....when we were mega noobs we both had W/Mk.....haha

Oh by the way, you won't be much of a soloist/farmer with either choice. More of a single target damage dealer. But both can be deadly in the right hands.

You don't yet know the power of the Riverdance. He is withholding secrets from you... The girlies love the Riverdance...

Ya... but look ahead, will you regret not having fastcasting? If you plan on going Blood for damage, the spells are somewhat slow casting, fastcasting helps a lot. I have given away enough secrets... and i'm out.

Imho, any profession that wants to solo a lot (ie. no henchmen) really needs to choose Monk as their secondary. At higher levels, it's nearly impossible to solo without some form of serious healing skill, even for super tanks.
