Was doing the last mission in the game a few ago with henchmen groupies. When I got to the 3 portals I started clearing the area and only had the portals and 1 named + 4 other burning golem dudes + one imp guy. They were pathing together and wouldnt split so I figured I would pick one with an arrow and run back a few hoping the hench would follow and maybe split some but it didnt work and the hench got owned.
(Now come the reason for the post)
Me being the only one left alive I back tracked my path and hit sprint (9 sec running) to get some distance. The foes stopped on the compass as usual and I continued to back track some more to get some healing room... Then I noticed the foes (which were almost at the end of my compass not in my agro bubble) started heading my way again and fast. So I continued to hit sprint as it refeshed heading to the start point of the mission. They were long gone off my compass when I arrived there. I Stopped there and rested. Not 5 seconds later they catch up to my compass range and are still coming for me. So I made a mad dash past them and headed to the portals to rez my hench to fight them all. When I got to my healers, with the foes on my compass closing fast I rez'd them both and then started working on the other henchmen.
Question: Is this part of the new AI change or did I just get lucky and find a smart mob?
Oh and btw I got my hench up in time and killed them.. Made it to Rurik and got owned there =P

For weeks now, I have noticed that with fewer in the party, mobs follow you for longer. Many times have I soloed just to find that no matter how far I've traveled (from the east side of the zone to the west for example) some groups just never stop following you, sprint or no sprint. A lot of this has happened mostly in exploration areas. Always thought it was just me. Maybe it is.

People I grouped with said the mobs were relentless, but the one time that I actually got in a mess (last one standing, monk) I sprinted and they left me alone after about 1 radar screen away.

It was strange but I actually found it exciting. After failing the mission I felt a sigh of relief because it was from actually fighting and not from a mob that will track you down from all the way on the other side of the mission.
