Monk, monk is a solid secondary for most any skill, good for healing spells to keep yourself alive in earlier missions and to help our your prim monks later on.

E/Me

E/Me will allow you to use Mesmer skills to steal energy from other enemies, so you can cast more spells. You can also use Elementalist main to take advantage of its Energy Storage and play as a Mesmer in Disguise.

E/Mo will allow for healing skills, and you can also do Monk in Disguise and act as an effective secondary healer with your large amount of energy storage.

In addition to Mesmers and Monks, Necromancers would work well, too.

No one can tell you what to be. You'll have to decide for yourself what you want to pick.

Pick your secondary profession by drawing straws... ultimately, it really doesn't matter which second profession you have unless you have a specific desire to do an awesome two profession skill build

im thinking u r air

i'd go with mesmer, echo is a powerful spell to be combined with any elementalist
also, backfire with domination 10 isn't too bad neither (~110dmg) (assuming 8 in storage, 12 in whatever u want to focus)

Think of an attribute that belongs to a profession.

Warrios cos they use weapons or Rangers cause <----!!!! they have a pet. Necs or mesmers cos you can degenerate your foes health while you blast. I think to pick monk as your secondary profession just so you can always heal yourself is a bit poor though, no offense CAT. I've played with a lot of secondary monks, and I can say that 90% of them never use their second profession for anyone benefit other than their own. They don't even carry a res SIGNET.. let alone the skill.

I agree. (Except for the cos, its cause! cause cause cause!!)

E/Mo is alright, but you can maximize your damage potential by using other classes. And thats what an ele is for, damage..

I would say monk. You need to be able to heal yourself. And besides, warrior and elementalist works as one or the other. It's very hard to be both.

A) You dont need to be able to heal yourself, almost every group will have a monk in it.

B) My favorite character is my W/E, excellented extended damage dealer.

I disagree. Most monks do not do their job properly - including henchen. Relying on other monks usually is pointless.

You probably didn't team up with a good and nice monk. I've played with many monks, in teams of 6 or 8. Sometimes 1 monk alone can prevent damage or heal so well, we hardly see our life go down to even worry about it. Ahh the beautiful feeling of just focusing on enemy without worrying about self-heal.

There are two ways of playing an elementalist. You either play for massive damage and load up with lots of elementalist spells, making the second profession semi-redundant or use the large energy pool to make it so you can use lots of high powered secondary profession spells. For the first type, /mo gives you access to all the res spells and limited self healing, /me gives you a slightly broader scope. Every elementalist has the option of switching between the two styles of play at any time by using a couple of refund points, making elementalists the most unpredictable opponents in PvP.

I've tried both /me and /mo and for pure PvP i'd go E/Me but for mixed PvE/PvP E/Mo is a lot more versatille.

Yah most monks suck. As a Mesmer I find Ether feast as a complete necessity.

It keeps me alive for oh so very much longer. If nothing else just to give the monk more time to heal me.

Though why he let me drop to 20 HP in the first place, I dunno.
