sword questions

what specs would create the best possible UNMODDED sword?
-also does the type of sword matter besides appearance? ie... a fellblade vs an identically spec'd long sword

what are the best possible mods to then add to that sword?

sounds kinda like a cliche question but havent really found an answer searching the forum

is a gold sword the same as an identical spec'd purple/blue sword?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think it does (as long as you're able to find one with the same mods). Purple just makes it more likely that you can find better +% damage and such mods that aren't linked with a pommel or hilt. Gold makes it even more likely. So chances are, if you find one with this max-ed attribute, it's probably gold, but again, if you were able to find one as purple or blue, then there's no difference between it and the gold. Also, gold and purple items sell more to NPC's than blue and white items.

As for type, I again don't think matters. People just prefer felblades and fiery dragon swords because they're cooler looking.

kinda off topic but do yall think 7.5K worth it for this sword:

blue "zealous long sword of fortitude"
max damage
+15% damage (when damage)
+1/-1 energy steal/regen
+25 hp

It's not a rip-off, but I don't think it's a good deal. You're pretty much paying the 7.5K just for the +25 HP hilt, as the +1 zealous pommel is almost useless and max damage swords themselves are very easy to come by later in the game.

zealous pommel is useless? i thought that was one of the big demand sword upgrades

if the purple or gold has no extra mods on it than the reason its purple or gold is becasue the required skill would be much lesss..

Example:

white Longsword that is 10-22 (swordsman 10 required)

Purple Longsword that is 10-22 (swordsman 8 required)

Gold Longsword that is 10-22 (swordsman 6 required)

anyone have any input on this? i was under the impression that a zealous hilt was the most valuable hilt upgrade for a sword

if it isnt, whats the sword hilt of choice?

i think that sword is a collectors item if im not mistaken but im not really sure cause theres collectors that give zealous ascalion bow max dmg 15 while health is above 50% health +1/-1 +25 but im not sure on if its really a collectors sword

I bet it is, if the +15% is while in a stance.

I bought two of them. Cost me 2k a peice, and I think that was fair. But, never pay 7.5K for a collectors weapon.
