What exactly is Ascension?
1 pages • Page 1
How far into the story have you got then, Where are at on your map?
The 3 ascension missions, Elona Reach, Dunes of Despair and Thirsty river, are after Amnoon Oasis, you have to speak to 3 ghosts in Augury Rock to be told about the 3 missions, It's puzzling to find out that your Level 20 and not reached this far yet....
EDIT - you complete the 3 misions(Which can be quite tough) and return and fight your mirror image, then you ascend and reach Droknar's forge

I have made it to the Temple of ages and all the zones on the Western part of the map and recently I have been trying (unsuccessuly) to get through to Loranar's Pass and those zones.
I have not made it to the Amnoon Oasis or the related zones. How do I get there?
Nor have I made it to the Ring of Fire Zones... just discouver the aforementioned zones when I found un updated map...
EDIT: I just found this Acsension Guide click here this guide is based on this original post here http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=10658

Uhh have you done any of the missions?! The first one is at the north wall, near Ascalon, you advance into new places by doing missions, the ones on your map that look like shields. The dot on your map thats shining is where your current mission is. By doing the missions you get to amnoon oasis and the ring of fire.

If you're already at the temple of the ages, you can go ahead and skip the early missions and try to find the Maguuma jungle ones. There really is only 1 mission you need to do to get to the desert, and that's Sanctum Cay.
Have you found fisherman's haven? Its 1 map west of Temple of the Ages, and one map south of that map. If you're there, just keep going south and u'll come across Sanctum Cay.

Dude, how did you get level 20 without doing the storyline missions? You just running around grinding?

Aye, I made it to the Oasis and the Rock and have been trying the Dunes missions but without success. I am amazed at how people who have achieved high levels still don't grasp basic group fundamentals: Stay together, have 1 leader, target enemies, and don't rush off alone, follow instructions.
5 missions failed yesterday with 4 different groups including one group who insisted that it wasn't necessary to have a Healer... OMFG!

You said it! What's more if the group fail just as you have described many people want to blame the monk for not healing enough. noobs want someone to make up for their n00bage.
I was playing with my lvl 10 Mesmer in PvP a few days ago. Before the mission, I laid down the rules just like you have, General. My team slaughtered the other team. I was lvl 10 fighting against lvl 14. We pwned!
The key is to start your own groups. Then type:
You will always have someone call you bossy or a**. Kick them from your group becuase they don't know how to follow instructiuons.

Ascension isn't really anything, all it does is provide you with continuation of the story, dragons lair and then onto other parts. Some may argue it provides you with key skills (timing, direction, survival and technique) What would have been good is for it to actually do something like providing a name change. This would also help greatly for pvp, as I'd at least know this person has some experience. Not even the "end" of the game changes anything.
Ascension will provided you the ability to capture eliet skills that you really cant get anywhere else from these bosses...
o and in referense to the person saying they were not level 20 at crystal desert, your rushing through this game way to fast. I cant stand grouping with level 15 people at some of these missions. If your at Crystal desert you should be level 20... I reached level 20 at "The Wild"

10 mins in and they are "no it's this way around" *as they run into a mob of sages and warriors which just kick there ass, 1 man down and the rest being picked off*
I could of lead them around them, and straight to objective, and getting it done but NO. Also i'm fed up with the guys who have no idea about attack radius and just run thinking they won't get spotted when the rest of the team managed to squeeze safly passed.
OO yeh, and another. "Why did you do that!?" ....... reponce (dead of course): "I like to fight"
KK sorry for the rant.

spoiler...
Ascension is when you automatically become level 20 (-30 attribute points) after completing all 3 Ascension Trials and beating your mirror. It's just a stage in the game. After Ascension, you can go back to Destriny's Gorge, Seeker's Passage, and... er.. that other one... and change your secondary profession.
