You get a Elder Wolf with pre-mades, so don't even bother. The wolf while argueably the "strongest" according to some in terms of statistics, is the most pathetic AI creature, at least the way I remember it from March BWE. The wolf does NOT attack who you attack, it just attacks randomly. Try using a wolf in PVE, it runs around for no reason alot of times. It's like Rurik, except even more stupid.

arn't pre-made only for pvp though? so it wouldn't really matter if your pet sucks at PVE.

yes, but that makes unlocking anything related to the beastmastery attribute almost just as useless. there are only a few skills there not directly tied to pets that you could actually use..

The question is whether a pet that a ranger takes through PvE and enters into PvP with at lvl 20 will behave the same? That would be unfortunate if all pets became mindless drones upon loading up a GvG, Arena or Halls. Even those that you have toiled with for multiple hours of gameplay.

the AI is the same for each scenario. do henchmen behave differently in PvE when compared to PvP? no, they do not. i still believe that pet AI still has some kinks to work out, but as of the last BWE, they will basically attack the target you are attacking.
