EB Australia on the 22nd?

I went to EB today and asked them about GW, they told me it's going to be released on the 22nd of April and they don't have any preorder deal at the moment.
Anyone know what on earth is going on? It wasn't just an incompetent staff member because I looked at the screen and saw the date there myself.

Hmm, I was planning to head into EB tomorrow and place my pre-order, as I'd heard they'd worked out a preorder deal with ANet. Might leave it for a bit if that's the case.

Perhaps the 22nd is the date that they'll have their preorder packages in stock?

Hello I have just joined the forum.
I bought my preorder pack online on Friday 1st April from Games Warehouse in Silverwater NSW and received it Monday. Maybe you could order it from them. Their email addy is: www.gameswarehouse.com.au if you want to order a copy of the prepack.

I am all logged in with the game now and rearing to go on the beta week-end 15th April! lol

its most likely when they will get a new shipment of preorder packs, because the game re;eases april 28th worldwide if im not mistaken or the 28th for north america and one day later for europe

*edit* see my previous posts about how stupid the people who work at EBgames are and how they dont know what theyre talking about, i guess this mean internationally as well, thats probably the day the game ships to them. as we americans get it on the 28th, but it ships on the 26th, probably takes a little longer for europe or AU to get it

Thanks, but as you may have noticed, I've read and responded to that thread a couple of times already. That's why I wanted to go see what was happening at my local EB.

Hey everyone. Guild Wars will be available in Australia from EB on the 28th, not the 22nd. I'll try to find out for you all whether they'll have preorder beta keys available or not, I know we were working on it.

i went to EB today, they told me the same thing as spiritofcat it will be released on the 22nd and he had no idead what BWE was.

When i told him that the official release of the Game was the 27th as it is stated on GW website, he was "suprised" and started talking about the game being delayed and it ususally happens and that it may even come out on the "30th" etc

personaly i think EB is doing it on purpose to get more Pre Release ordersby getting people's hopes up, then when the time comes they will feed them some line about the game being delayed.

I wonder if we will even get a chance to play on the 27th if we pre order from EB?

like ive stated in oh-so-many posts, Eb employees do not know what theyre talking about, and as someone else has said, they only know and or care about what games they like. prime example i finally met a EB employee who likes guild wars, and he was able to tell me the final release date without even looking it up, what char classes there were, how the game was setup and that there was no monthly fee's (so many others told me there were update fee's and this and that fee's blah blah blah) i wonder if Blizzard or Sony pay them to do that? to kinda sully GW's good name. anyways 1 outta 12 Eb employees ive spoken to had no damn idea what was goin on with GW, so i suggest just pay attention to the GWG boards and the main site, GWG will prolly hear about it before the main board even puts it up lol.

I've also had very bad luck with misinformation at EB. Luckily I've always known better.

GW is "sorta like lineage 3"

Gw will have a monthly fee but they are running an "open beta"

Sure you can pre-order... but I don't know what "pre-order package" you're talking about. Just give us your reciept on February 2nd when it comes out...

Collector's Edition? <doesn't even look it up> sorry, but they don't really put out collector's editons for games until they are released for a while.


Great staff... these were at a total of 3 different locations in my city. Luckily, I did find someone who knew what they were talking about, and even managed to upgrade my regular pre-order to the collector's editon.
