Hey, i'm about to pass through ascesion (done 2 of the 3 missions)

Atm i'm r/e and don't like it, don't try to convince me because i don't like it. So i play solid ranger.

Now after ascension or whatever you can re choose second profession, well.... even if i don't use more than one skill (healing myself) would monk be a good second profession (if i'm selfish with it, i.e. just use healing on myself not others)

Kind of lost to what to do, so has anyone got any ideas of what to take as the best ranger secondary, and if monk would be a good choice?

Thanks.

Something to consider when playing purely as your primary is skills that require no attibute points to be used effectively. Monk is a great example of this. It has Ressurect, aswell as skills to remove conditions and hexes, so choosing Monk would allow you to put all your points into playing Ranger, but still offer something worth having.

There are other choices aswell. Personally, I like playing a pure Ranger R/Me, using Epidemic. Stack skills like Apply Poison, Hunters Shot and Pin Down to load up the enemy with conditions, then spread them around using Epidemic.

O yeh, completly forgot that some monk skills don't need attributes! Seeing as i play pure ranger and need my attributes concentrated on Marksmenship, Expertise, and Wilderness survival, it would be perfect to have rez e.t.c. using no atts. Hmm seeing as i don't use the Ele, i will just change it to monk. You don't gain anything if you choose R/R do you, no extra points, catorgaries e.t.c?

Vengeance, Resurrect, Rebirth, Remove Hex, Purge Conditions, Mend Ailment, Mend Condition, and a few more skills all work very well with no points into any Monk attributes. Monk is a great secondary profession.
