Quest: Charr at the Gates

Usually nothing drops from the Charr in this quest; however, I did more than 50% damage to the Charr Fire Wielder (rather than the NPCs doing all the work) so that may have affected the drop rate. Look what dropped!

would black dye suffice for this thread? The fun part was I didn't know it was worth anything, and when I got to the merchant I saw I only could get 1 gold for it. So I asked my guild buddy if he wanted to have it, cuz 1 gold doesnt matter all that much to me. Then he said, take it to a dye trader, you can sell it for 3,5k. At that time I was superhappy when I had 500 gold, cuz I thought it was a lot, and I went crazy

I was like: what? for real? noooooooo!!!! really? cool!

i got some thing on that charr quest too.....a purple ...something...odd...not a blade or anything like that but when i ID it it unlocked a rune of axe mastery or something like that

One of the very first things I found with my first char (a male Ranger) in Pre-Searing was black dye. I didn't know anything abuot trades, so I just used it on the standard-ranger tanktop because I thought a black tanktop would look cool...

My buddy found a major rune of vigor in pre searing; i was walking him through how to id/salvage a "special" salvage item and that popped out. He hasnt found naught but a minor since i think...

Best thing I ever found in pre-searing Ascalon was a 10-16 bow with 6 marksmanship requirement. Nothing special, but I ended up keeping that bow a long time.

I found a black dye in pre-searing in the catacombs. I had paired up with this guy and he saw the drop. He told me he REALLY needed it because he was trying to dye everything black in his inventory. Well, clearly he just knew I was a noob at the time. Ended up he didn't have anything I wanted so luckily I didn't trade. Wasn't I excited when I went to the dye trader later!!

I like these two too:

I would like to see a 13-20 (or more) +15% Dmg Hammer once, which is possible, since I've seen a 13-20 Hammer in Pre-Searing

And of course I would like to get it then

I hate being a noob... When i was doing the wilds mission i came across a black dye and went to LA to try to sell it and some guy offered me 2K and i thought that was alot and sold it >.<

yeah I sold my first black dye for 1K to someone, I told my guild buddy, and I was all like

"Yeah, this gut must really love black dye, because I got a bundle off him!"

We were all like "haaaah"

But then we found out he made a bundle on that...

I didnt get the black dye in pre searing i got it int he wilds mission if u read it properly.

i kept my elementalist there until lvl 8 and got around 10 dyes lol. i am probaby going to make anotehr character and do it again b/c the dye drops rarely in post. i have about 5 of every color, some more some less, but only like 2 black.

My first run through the Northlands:
- Purple armor - Minor Axe Mastery
- Purple armor - Minor Death Magic
- Purple Holy Rod - 6-10dmg, 10% chance of fast cast

Of course, haven't seen a purple presearing item since.

Here's my finds in presear:

Not that big a deal except that this is still the TUTORIAL ZONE.
I've found every single minor rune presearing. Too bad there's no expert kits >_<
Now I want to find a firey dragon sword presear! That would pwn!

ARGH, I wished I would have saved my Screen Shots.

I remember when I was saving up all of the runes I found so when I come out of presearing I could have sold them. Well after I had saved up alot, this is when A-Net decided to put in the rune trader... my plans were foiled.

Also if you have a warrior/ranger, you can farm for charr hides! That way you can get your armor as soon as you "cross over"
