Are there any skill in the entire game (all classes) that are similar to this, (5 energy, 1 second cast, quick recharge, knockdown, NO EXHAUSTION), even if they do no damage, that arent elite

No, I don't think you get a quick, easy to spam knock down spell without some kind of cost. Stoning comes closest, although only Ele's can afford that, and you have to make the target weak first.

hi! im new. anywho... i like this spell in Gvg or PvP cause it is a knockdown spam. it does take like 4 secs to reload but you can still spam it.

Water Trident is a must for any Water elementalist that doesn't need the elite elsewhere (like energy management or something). It's spammable, knocks down, and does decent damage. If you're looking at anything else, like Mind Freeze, you're wasting your time.

Ward against Harm and Water trident are 2 completely different skills. One's for protection and the other is an attack.
So whichever one is "better" is completely conditional depending on what you're up against. Obviously if you know you're going to go up against a ton of fire damage you might want to opt for ward against harm or ward against elements.
Other than that, Water trident is a very great skill for an elementalist period. No other spell that does knockdown recharges as fast, casts as fast, or costs as much. A definite must have like they say for anyone who practices water skills.

Very good for stopping those pesky warriors who make their charge on you. Doesn't work at a very close distance though because the warriors are usually back on their feet by the time you can cast this again.

People who queue their spells out of range and have to move to get to the target that are knocked WILL be interrupted. That's rather odd, in my opinion.
However, other than in that context, your knockdowns will only serve to slow/halt movement.
Spells like Gale can force [knockdown] at any given time for greater control.
By no means am I saying that this spell is bad though. The damage is actually decent, the recharge time could be a lot worse, and the price is definitely right.
I'm just pointing out that comparing the knockdown on this skills to others isn't really a fair comparison. This knockdown is a far more limited form of control than many others.

well, if the w/e is using a conjure, then hundred blades is decent

I've play Water Elementalist for a total Full Year since 2005 until now. This is the best Water Elite Spell. No doubt at all! Extremely low energy cost, very fast recharge and fast casting time. GW tone up Water Trident's dmg ever since Faction comes out! It now does 74 dmg at Water Magic 16!
You can't compare Water Trident to Gale because they serve totally different functions!! Water Trident cost no exhuastion, so you can spam it! And most imporant thing is... Water mage spells like Frozen Burst, Deep Freeze, Ice Spike... they all do cold damage + snare effect, so it is very easy to slow your enemies movement and knock it down by Water Trident. GW design this elite spell to combine with your other water snare effect spells. Both for Pve and Pvp *Water Spike* !! If you spam Water Tridents, you have both damage and the knock down effect. *Also good for any foe who try to flee from your maelstrom!!* I've tried numberous of PvP and GvG and WT is a must for all Water Eles.

This skill raped my team one time. It was me as a ranger with 3 other warriors and there happened to be two people in the same guild using water trident. It was not pretty.
