1) Dye. Change the ability to place dye on more than just one area of the armor so that people can be more divers than the others.

2) Food.

The introduction of food into the game would be a nice addition to the game and give players a constent reason to farm even though they have the best weapon/armor that they can get in the game. this will keep the game fresh.

Food should only be looted and never sold by vendors. (to be honest runes should never had been added as a merchant)

examples of some food:

Drake Jerky: 65% chance +1 elemental attack for 60 seconds(apply to all elemental types)

Charr Biscuits: +5 armor to physical attack for 30 seconds

Grawl stew: +100 Health and +25 energy for 60 seconds

Griffon Wing Wraps: Health regeneration +3 for 120 seconds

Dwarven Ale: 65% Melee weapons +1 for 60 seconds

Giant Pickled toes: 100% cahnce for Armor +25 for 60 seconds, health regeneration -1

these are just some ideas. but i really feel that food needs to be added to the game.

Yes, let's add food to the game, another unoriginal idea that many games have overused. I want another reason to isolate the casual player from the hardcore player and ruin the focus on skill.

Edited to add: I'm with Manadar. No effects, no problem with them adding it. Gold sinks are fun

I would only be in favor of adding food only if it affected NOTHING, and was simply a gold sink (although there could be little animations; that would be neat ).

Adding this is like adding potions, and potions in Guild Wars sounds...stupid

i dont disagree with you at all about that.. But what i do feel the need for is is content that will keep you going well after you have the best armor/rune/and weapon that you can get. There is no need to farm for money or even items at this point but bringing food or maybe something else into the game will keep you coming back for more. although PvP is fun once you have reached this point if you want to take abreak from PvP for awhile and go farming sometimes there really is nothing more to farm so all there is left is to log out? If you dont want to take the option for food then thats kewl..

you could always add something like Playing cards and add a side game that is played with the collected cards?

1) Dye.

How about dying your hair as well. Nothing better than cruising around with purple hair...

Bro! those food you mentioned sounds unappetizing. and sounds like we're going to hunt creatures like giants for their toes(want a toe jam w/ it ) or are you saying steal their food like Charr biscuits... do you know what they are made of

I think food added to the game is a great idea but make it Human food somehow

I like the food idea. But I hope such an idea would only be applicable in pve areas only. It would add intrest to roleplayers and even help in some instances against lvl21+ creatures, without unbalance.

Um.

How is food not unbalancing? It gives you the ability to reproduce skills neither your primary nor secondary class may have and to do so without losing energy, adrenaline, or having to wait for skill recharge.

In pvp, yes..I would throw a lot out of wack. Thats why I said pve only.
Balance would be an issue if it where me vs. you. Or pvp.
In pve, its players vs. the machine. And the machine has enemies that are many lvls higher than the players. So the machine has an imbalaced advantage but, the machince doesnt think, so really, the players have the advantage. The food upgrades, would be fun, but I dont see them as important and shouldnt be considered as such. And given the amount of increase as the topic creator suggested, they would make for nice rare drops. Give some purpose to those farm loving players out there.

Also, the ideas here, are only ideas. They can go a long way from here, and fit the game if givin serious concideration. I mean hell, we got dwarven beer. Im sure there are those that would have heard this suggested and responded with "thats stupid" But still, it doesnt defeat the game. It just adds flavor.

Howabout if they add a hunger meter along with the food that diminshes over time. Basically different foods would replenish the hunger meter. The effects of the hunger meter would be to have stomach growling at maybe 50%, and maybe at less than 10%, instead of the normal standing animation, your character would collapse on the ground (however if you hit move again you'll be right back up)

If you want that, play EQ or something.

agree with that, but it has to do something, but no bonuses to combat.

why it has to do something? who the hell would buy drake jerky ( exemple ) just to double click on it?

It should have a funny/amusing meaning

I really agree with number one, and think different parts of the armor should be dyed... and another thing...

Has anyone noticed the colors not turning into the right colors?
I wasted five black dyes + five blue dyes, for 5 dark blue dyes, and when i added that to my elementalist armor, it became a baby light blue. I may be confused, but the blue was darker without black... opposite day when i dyed or what?

On the second idea... No, food sucks... The beer is cool. And well, that's all you need, swirling screens, and drunken gold wasters (like myself) falling on the ground. -- Now that's great fun.

Cheers!

It could have some cool animation associated with it... or it could turn your character different colors, shapes, etc.... that would be weird

If you really want to perform boring, everyday tasks in a game isn't that what The Sims is for?
