I cast this all the time and I have it cast on me occasionally.
However, I have never seen any visual indicator that the spell is going off, other than the stream of dmg numbers that appear over the mob's heads and the blindness effect when the spell ends.
I don't see any flames or pillars of dirt or magma or anything.
When I cast the spell, there is the traditional "circle of smoke" over my head that normally occurs when casting an Earth spell, then...nothing. Yellow dmg numbers start appearing.
I can only think that maybe my install is screwed up because all other spells I cast have a visible effect, and considering this one costs 25mana and does so much and is an AoE I would expect it to be visible. How else can you avoid walking through the Eruption AoE while it is going off?
If it does have a visual, can somrone post a screenshot so I can see what it looks like?
Does Eruption have any visual effects?

you're dissapointed?...Illusionary Weaponry attack looks exactly like any other chaos damage, apart from that 0.6 second animation of you enchanting the weapon. Energy Drain dosen't even have an effect. Phoenix looks like a fireball and an inferno. This game's been poor for effects right from the start...just be happy with what you got...
...although, on the plus side you can recognise most effects easily due to their simplicity...and it dosen't clutter the screen the way D2 effects did.

Eruption looks like the dirt is being disturbed around your target (or you), but that's it.

I was hoping that Phoenix would involve some fiery bird fly out from my elementalist and fly smack into the opponent with a fiery explosion. But alas, a high arching fireball is all we get. Most other skills I'm good with visually.

Well it wouldn't make you lucky, if all spells would have an optical pwnage. I just agree with Everous: if u want to have one big grafic lag then play d2 lod at a baalrun with 8 allys...
