First of all, I am german native, so dont go and brag about my english, ill try to do my best.
I play a Monk now for quite a while (called Ged Sho), and luckily i never had any problems with people not honoring my "work". Sometimes I got grouped together with tanking eles (without the proper protection) and rushing warriors and you know the kind, but luckily nothing worse. BUT i do know that there are several issues you normally get to deal with while playing the monk class. That's why i said "luckily".
Then, someday about the first time i got to droknars forge and all of a sudden i had the strange but nevertheless very strong urge to go soloing some easier areas, and earn the money for some cool new tattoos. In addition to that, I got boring of the "red bar game", but didnt want to give up on my beloved Ged Sho. I would guess, this is a "monk mid life crisis" known to a lot people out there, true?
So i made him go smiting. You know, in german thats called "Peinigen" or "Züchtigen" which almost always sounds kind of dirty.... but i shouldnt be so biased calling the sm people dirty. so sorry for that one.
anywhoo, why do i post this meaningless mess of information...
i guess because i want to touch that certain nerve inside you, my brother and sister monk. because maybe it is true, and we are all from the same church. or in a more comprehensive way:
lets create a guild, just with monks. we can be like the red cross
sure we have enough seats for smiters, too.
id say, members should be rpg chars, since i guess, it could be fun being... like... a well known... church or something. and in pvp and gvg we will need more classes than just monks, and there's the place for the secondary and pvp char slots. (but i still desperately want to see a band of primary monks healing protecting and smiting in a pvp fight... that would be holy)
in pve we could be, as posted in another thread "the snob in the group", and in a while people that call for the help of the "red cross" will know the rules, they have to follow, when they want a group to survive. such guidelines could be posted on a simple homepage, for a quick walkthrough. every group that wants to recruit a monk from our guild should have read those guidelines.
another advantage i would see is.. like in the origin of "guilds".. you have one profession gathered, so knowledge can be spread much faster. we can exchange tricks and surely, in outposts, behave like clerics.
WE COULD use the mantra of the monks in monthy pythons "holy grail"
we can have (sorry for the following) ub4r l33t pwning dance sessions. i mean it. wouldnt it be cool? 20 monks, doing the kata and transforming the city into a dojo ?^^
since there are a lot of monks with tattoos, i guess a lot of people might say, "lets rather not put a cape on that beautiful monk". so here goes my suggestion for capes: dont take one, until we get the option to turn it off (which i bet, will be implemented). i heard you need a cape for a hall, so a cape will be needed sooner or later...
my suggestion of a name would be "The Zen Men" (in english, does "men" include "women" in some way?) and the Tag could be "Zen" because i think that is so damn cool and fits those eastern style monks so well.
I play on european servers, because thats where i live, and as i said, native german speaking, open minded and now listening to your ideas, comments, and hopefully your agreement and willingness to found such a (sorry) roxx0ring guild.
oh. and, please no leet people. no offense. but i cant stand reading caps, exclamation marks and leet speak. well sometimes i can actually stand it and find it very amusing, but only under rare circumstances.
last but not least, i surely dont need to be the leader of the pack, and would happily stand aside to a more skilled person, but i am ready to do it.
thank you for your time.
