Heal Other
Healing Touch
Orison of Healing
Divine Boon
Channeling
Energy Drain
Inspired Hex
Mantra of (physical/elemental/lightning?) or rez sig.

11/10/10 in divine/heal/insp not including runes.

Activate Boon and Channeling before major combat starts. Heal somwhat conservatively, considering you can heal so much per cast. (Heal Other can heal somewhere around 250) Channeling usually negates the energy loss from boon, and Drain can create come mana fast if you need some. Inspired Hex on Backfire/Migraine/etc.

Not sure on mantras, but by golly with all the air ele nukes I swear I am gonna walk in to the HoH one day with a full team of secondary mesmers all using mantra of lightning. lol but really I cant decide which, if any, I should use. The other option is res sig.

Otther than that, anything missing? Its pretty solid (playtested) Im just looking for nit-picky improvements.

I'm a very differnt monk. I'm a General Support Unit:

11/10/10/4 Divine, Protection, and Smite, Inspiration Magic

Balthazar's Aura
Shielding hands
Reversal of Fortune
Shielding (Elite)
Smite Hex
Mend Condition
Channeling
Rebirth

I specialize in making tanks into Super Tanks! I pump them full of protection prayer then use Balthazar's on them to make them Monk Nukers!! Smite Hex and Mend condition are used for those annoying Mesmer enemies.

Ijust think there is more to being amonk than being a Heal-bot. I just finished the Ring of Fire Mission with this build. I've been running a similar build since I Ascended.

Anyway you've got a good primary healer built up. I would suggest be careful with Boon because you don't want to waste energy. If a guy is only need 50 hp to get full health and you hit him with Orison (Boon and Favor), you've just healed for about 100 hp. Yuo just wasted 50 hp worth of energy. Later on in battle ineffecient use of energy will show it's head and you won't haveenough energy to heal.

That's why a good protection monk is needed. Protection monks can allow you to spend less energy. You will heal less because the group is taking less damage. So as an answer to your question the best thing to do is try to team up with a protection monk.

Hmm, I could drop both boon and channeling... but what to add? Devotion Sig? Cant decide. Heres my alternate build:

Word of Healing (E)
Orison of Healing
Devotion Signet
Healing Touch
Mend Ailment
Protective Spirit
Draw Conditions
Inspired Hex

11/10/10 Divine/Healing/Prot. Less energy steal, but you really dont need it, everything costs like 5.

Yeah, that could work. I used Boon for a while and just drained too much energy. I found the using protection prayers helped conserve energy better.

Also try Divine Spirit: for 9 seconds all spells are reduced by 5 energy. That could help.

60 second recharge = no thx =(

Latest revision:

Energy Drain (E)
Inspired Hex
Hex Breaker
Devotion Sig
Orison
Healing Touch
Heal Other
Channeling

11/10/10 Divine/Heal/Insp. Really can fight enemy mesmers well. Heals self and others well. Regains Mana smoothly. Havent yet playtested this exact build, but its nothing radically different so it should work about the same as the others. Hex Breaker is nice b/c it still does what I want it to very well, even with no points in domination.

Mantras I'd take over a res sig.

In PvE, yeah, bring a res, but in pvp... You're usually always watched so the moment you try to res, bam*, instantly interrupted/skill locked...

Have your monk secondaries on your team bring res skills.

Conjure Phantasm is an Illusion magic attribute. I would go with Channeling instead.

Also, protection prayers are a good was to save energy. Your group will take less damage, therefore you will have heal less.

Divine Boon is not effective in conjunction with Heal Other. In fact, Heal Other is a generally bad heal for Monk primaries in general, since Divine Favor adds to every cast. You want to cast often as a Monk.

You also seem to be carrying an awful lot of Mesmer abilities. Half of your bar is Mesmer stuff. I wouldn't suggest bringing more than 3 Me abilities... and really 1 or 2 is best.

For random arenas, I use the following:

Divine Favor: 14 (11 + 3)
Protection Prayers: 13 (10 + 3)
Inspiration: 10

Energy Drain {E}
Guardian
Contemplation of Purity
Shielding Hands
Reversal of Fortune
Mend Ailment
Divine Boon
Channeling

I replace Shielding Hands with Aegis in 8v8.

Another build I've had success with is 11 DF, 10 PP, 10 HP:

Dwayna's Kiss
Healing Touch
Healing Breeze
Guardian
Contemplation of Purity
Shielding Hands
Mend Ailment
Peace & Harmony {E}

Use Dwayna's Kiss after dropping Guardian, Shielding Hands and Healing Breeze on the target for a massive heal. Use Healing Touch for self healing.

Well if this thread shos anything its that there are alot of of ways to make monks, several of them bad. I like to switch it up, so here is my latest reincarnation:

Heal Other (power healing)
Healing Touch (self healing)
Reversal of Fortune (spam healing)
Peace and Harmony (E) (more mana, obviously)
Remove Hex (obvious use)
Mend Ailment (also obvious use)
Aegis (power group spell)

8th spot in PvE is Restore Life (obvious use) and in PvP is Vigorous Spirit (Covers P+H)

Reversal of Fortune is the best spam healing in the game! Throw Divine Boon or Archane Echo in and that all you need!
