Shocking string-bow upgrade

hi all
wow...it has been quite while since ive post here...but i do check here all the time when i need few informations =)
enjoying guildwars alot with friends.

im playing ranger right now to try out different professions
it happens that i picked up a shocking string upgrade...but i dont know what is does.
ive been asking people, but informations are not consistent.
if you know for sure, would you like to help me with this?

i have ithas bow...and if shocking is pretty good upgrade...i would like to upgrade it to make "shocking ithas bow"

I think shicking is lightning. Should say it on the string.

yep, it will convert your damage from (assuming max damage)
15-28 piercing damage
to
15-28 lightning damage

yeah..
i know shocking upgrades your weapons to "lightning damage"
and i would like to know the effects of "lightning" damage...

does it have chance of stun enemy? like elementalist's lightning spells?
extra damage on warrior? etc

No it has no effects like that.

All it effects is armor, such as warriors get extra armor against physical, well this would bypass it.

I'll pay you like 800 for one.

Just using to have lightning over piercing isn't worth it.

well for pve, monsters have diffrent weakneses.
out of a firey, shocking, ebon, and peircing. all with the same damage.
shocking does more to mergoyles, and ebon more to bog scales

sorta like holy damage and undead

also hitting a ranger with it on would reduce the dmg you did as well
