Is it just me or do the collectors typically offer things that are below what ya already have?
When I get to Yak's bend I am typically between level 12 and 14 (fyi).

Answer: No. You just need to know where the good collectors are. A lot of the later collector items is just as good or better than most rare drops you will get.

don't loose your time with the colector at that point of the game and wait for those that has the good stuff. There is a post about all colector location and what they offer somewhere on the forum.
