Getting barrage off makkis?

Okay now since the new SoC thing has been added I KNOW that I've used it on bosses who were still alive. People are telling me I can't get barrage from him though, some people say that they changed it yet again so you can only use on dead bosses, some say I never could and I'm crazy.

Can you or can't you get barrage off of him.

I did the mission once and was like oh I forgot a SoC, that sucks.

I'm not doing it again if I can't get it.

To answer your question currently you cannot.

The SoC has been changed so that the only way to capture skills is to kill the boss, then use the SoC to collect the skill you want.

However since the mission ends once you kill him you cannot capture it.

I do know you can get it from the Fire Islands later in the game however, not sure from who... uncomfirmed.

Also I'm sure A.net are aware of this new issue and are working on a fix as we speak.

I know they initially changed it so that you COULD use it on dead bosses, however, once they did that, I used it on a live boss. It gave me the little screen with all their skills and stuff.

So you're telling me they changed it again so you can't do that?

Anyway, yeah I know you can get it later I just wanted it now.

If this question hasn't been answered yet, after you kill Markis a small group of Jade Armors appear that you have to kill now before the mission ends, giving us lucky rangers a long enough amount of time to grab Barrage

Yeah, you can get barrage from a dune burrower boss in Abaddon's Mouth. It's really far to the side you don't need to go to finish the mission. (pretty much where you are supposed to take the ghost for the bonus, if the bonus wasn't bugged.)

I just got it from him, but I think that was more luck than intended, because I did this mission 2x before with a different character and it always ended right after killing him.
Today the Jade Armors didn't appear until I nearly had him down, so that he died when some mobs were still alive, leaving me enough time to capture the skill...
...and then realizing that my whole team (luckily all henchies) got wiped out by the jades, while I was gleeing over my precious elite skill
