When you die, you become a corpse. You wait until a teammate ressurects you (if they can). For each death you suffer, you get 5% Death Penalty, which lowers your total hit points and energy.
When your whole team dies, then the mission has failed and you lose. You get sent back to the gathering zone and can figure out what to do from then. No corpse recoveries, no lost experience.
