I just created a monk tired of always searching for monks for missions/quests.
I'm swining towards Elementalist or Ranger. Can't decide on which. Elementalists have mass amounts of energy and Rangers are just spiffy.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I want to be catty and say "I suggest you figure out your playing style before asking other people for suggestions."
I'll be nice though.
Elementalist is good as a sub if:
1) You're a protection monk who is a real protection monk and not just a guy with a few heal spells and a few prot spells.
2) You are already good with energy management.
3) You're a healing or protection monk who just wants a couple of useful abilities to throw in (e.g. gale, blinding flash) to help his team out unexpectedly.
Mesmer is good as a sub if:
1) You're not terribly good with energy management and you find yourself bottoming out on mana quickly.
2) You *are* good with energy management and just want one or two revenge-type energy stealing abilities to surprise your opponents with.
3) You plan on using inspiration magic and you don't think it's a waste of time (which it is not).
Ranger is good as a sub if:
1) You think having a pet with 3 beast mastery will really be that helpful.
2) You really think healing spring will be more useful to you than healing breeze.
3) You think you'll have time to lay traps or use rituals as a prot monk/healer.
4) You want to be the monk with a bow.

Sorry, still new to this forum.
This will be my forth character, all my other characters have been Necro's.
I think I do pretty good at that.
