It's been ages since I dabbled in port sniffing and spoofing but I assure you, I am not trying to do anything illegal here.
I love playing Guild Wars at work when there is nothing to do but recently I've been getting a connection error. Something similar to:
Guild Wars could not connect to the server. You may be experiencing Network or Routing issues. (err code=blah)
I only get that message at work so I'm thinking they must have blocked the port that the GW client uses to connect and stream data. Any way to change the port it uses so I can skip around to a different port everyday?
If I don't find something to do, I'm just gonna end up spamming the forums with questions...lol.
Thanks for the help!!
Peace.
Changing Client PORT

BUMP - No thoughts on this at all guys?

you could unlock the port if you had access... and if you dont then well do work at work ^_^. Not 100% sure but im pretty sure you connect to anet with port 6112

I do indeed have access but I don't want to over-ride my superiors and undo what they've done. I just want to work around it. Another friend told me 6112 as well but I still have no clue on how to change it....or if changing it is even allowed.
Thanks for responding though. I guess it's back to doing work at work =]

You cannot change the client port, because the server has to use the same port as the client, which in Guildwars IIRC is 6112. So you have to configure your router/proxy/firewall to let thru all requests on UDP port 6112. No other way will work unfortunately.
P.S. I can't play GW at my student apartment too, because of such a damn proxy which won't let me!
