Idea for Guild Leaderships

This post is mostly for the Guild Wars creators, but feedback is appreciated.

I thought it would be nifty if instead of just having one Guild Leader, Guild Leadership could have the option of being an oligarchy of a few leaders, chosen by a Guild Leader. That way there could be more than one Guild Head and more than one person could dictate the major what-happens in the guild.

My experience and reason for writing this is that two of my friends and I decided on forming a guild, but only one of us were able to lead it. None of us have any reason to be leader over the others, but two of us have to be Officers and have less power in the guild.

I was just thinking that it would be a nifty idea.

The other alternative would be having an easy way for a Guild Leader to step down from their position and appoint a new leader without having the current Guild Leader leave the guild completely.

Hopefully they will elaborate on this issue, but currently with the Guild system as it is (Very basic... not much features, best thing I could think about it is the fact they can keep in touch easily with guild chat. If they didn't have it then it'd just be a same-cape kind of thing. Guild hall is also pretty basic) I doubt they'll be working specifically on this. The idea itself should be an idea that arenanet should focus on their pursuit to improve this game. I guess a current solution is just try to make each other know that you share equal power, just try to keep in touch and have the leader know what the other(s) need so it feels like they also have some control.

Well yes and no.. an officer is pretty much a leader with the curent system of the guilds.. that's not too complex.

The way they have it set up now, Officers are guild leaders, but the only function they are not capable of executing is disbanding the official Guild Leader. This way, new players, or little children do not work hard for a guild, and then get kicked from their own guild from someone else they thought they could trust.

if they wanted to feel like alleader in the group, then put them as the ONLY 2 officers...

Well, we are the only two officers, but we also can't be the ones to create the guild cape or obtain a guild hall.

I was also wondering how one might donate gold to their guild. I know that it is possible, but so far I know that only my Guild Leader can.

Another helpful idea would be having a guild gold depository and then allowing any member of the guild to donate to the guild so that they aren't forced into trusting their guild leader to do what the donator intended with donating the gold. That money in the guild account could go to guild capes and guild halls and the sort.

Our guild kind of does this now. We have 2 founders and a guild leader. The three of us share the leadership position pretty regularly, but it is mostly just honorary anyway at the moment. with the exception of promotions and demotions... to officer. and of course kicking from the guild.
