What do I need to solo (i.e., no henchmen, no other players) The Breach as an Elementalist/Monk? Keep in mind this is my second character, and I'm a new Elementalist player.
Here's my character's statistics, equipment and spells:
Level 9 Fire Elementalist/Monk
Fire Magic: 8 (10 with runes and headgear)
Energy Storage: 2 (3 with rune)
Flame's Eye (AC 30)
Pyromancer's Robes of Minor Fire Magic (AC 30)
Pyromancer's Gloves of Minor Energy Storage (AC 30)
Pyromancer's Leggings of Minor Fire Magic (AC 30)
Pyromancer's Shoes of Minor Fire Magic (AC 30)
[Note: Weak, I know, but hey, I just entered Post-Searing with 5 Platinum. Now I'm down to 2.5 Platinum thanks to those runes, which didn't provide the effects I thought. I thought Minor Runes provide +1 to a skill (i.e., 8 +4 = 12). *sigh*]
Total effects:
+60 Armor vs. Fire Attacks
+15 Energy (from Staff, Robes, and Gloves)
+2 Energy recovery (from Leggings and Shoes)
Spells: Flare, Fire Storm, Aura of Restoration, Lava Font, Bane Signet, Orison of Healing, Reversal of Fortune, Glyph of Lesser Energy
What can I do with my character so that I can, at least, solo the first area of The Breach without dying? Should I get better spells? Better equipment? Somehow raise my level fighting something in the RoA area? (Most creatures in that area give me zero experience...)
Edit: I can actually solo pretty far in. I just can't do it without getting near death or dying. And it really sucks when you cast Fire Storm on a group of Fire Callers and they disperse by moving 1 inch and the entire AoE spell misses...
Thanks for the advice.
Need E/Mo advice: what do I need to solo The Breach?

I don't understand. Why don't you do it with henchmen? After the farming nerf, there is nothing to gain from doing places by yourself.

Maybe he just wants to see if he can do it by himself. I know that I'd do something like that. It's a challenge.

Why I have a certain playing style is off topic. By the way, this "farming nerf" you refer to is somewhat nonexistent depending on what the player is hunting. For instance, this Green Hills County guide I wrote is useful for collecting several material types, dye, and experience up to Level 9. There are many lucrative routes throughout the game. "Farming" nerfed? No, who told you that? Ridiculous "farming", maybe, but not the normal methods. In addition, there is much to be gained from solo play: a) the challenge (pure PvM/PvE), b) a sense of accomplishment (accomplishments are what I'm all about), c) bragging rights (if you're into that sort of thing), and d) more items, more gold, and more experience points. Henchmen decrease the number of items available to the player per drop, gold is shared, and experience points are lessened. A solo player will acquire more items, more gold, and more experience points on average per instance than a co-op player.
Now back to my question.
Now back to my question.

Put some points into Healing Prayers and replace Bane Signet with Healing Breeze. that should help keep you alive.
Next up is killing the enemy. I find the best way to stop creatures moving out of your Fire Storms is to stand next to them. Apply Aura of Restoration and Healing Breeze just before combat. Run straight into them, drop Lava Font, then Glyph and Fire Storm. By the time Fire Storm is cast, Lava Font can be cast again. By the time that is done, Flare anything still standing, and use Orison as necessary.
