Horses, Drakes, etc.

I know that this would be a pretty big update, but wouldn't it be cool if you could buy/rent a animal that you could ride (think Zelda OoT)? You could have horses, drakes, the things those dwarves ride, and who knows what else. You could move faster and maybe have better stats. Of course your animal would have hp and stuff too, so he wouldn't be invincible. But I also think that they should be VERY expensive. Please give your opinions.

Search function is your best friend... please use it before creating new threads.
Mounts, even rentable ones like this would simply not work on any of the current maps, it would allow people to rush past mobs, and would require a massive amount of map changes and new animations...

I wonder why everyone is obsessed with mounts. All I hear about Gothic 3 is "Are there going to be mounts or what!!?".

Why not add cars and airplanes and atomic bombs as well...

The second mount thread in as many days. And here I thought this concept had been laid to rest a half year ago.
Next they'll want to be able to swim or jump. Oh. Wait.

There is nothing wrong with the idea of mounts. For travel they're useless and there are those people that freak out when ever something is suggested the remindes them of another game (completely irrational) but There are advantages to mounted calvalry. There is a speed bonus of course but it's harder to hit a man with a sword while he is on a horse. Also, it is easyer to hit a man on a mount with a ranged attack; which balances out the defense agains melee.
Mounts would be better implemnted as a class( like well..Mounted calvalry). This would create a new melee class(wich seems necisary as there is only one), it could implement polearms ( which people have also been asking for), It would implement mounts (which people want and would stop the begging for them) and would look cool.
on a final note, There are necrid horse men, doylak riders and beast herders. Why is it the humans are the only race stupid enough to keep walking on their own and why do they have to stay that way?

I don't freak out cuz of whatever he said, im kinda frustrated about everything today. proly ate too much meat today . neway im fine now, but I still dont think its a good idea. As has been pointed out, we would need bigger maps, and other things that make guild wars look like any of the other mmorpgs. I like map traveling, dont take it away from me. Cuz with map traveling, mounts are useless and only scamcrap to run past all the mobs and do the quests superquick, allowing you to do ascension while youre practically still a newb.

From another thread:
If you want to suggest a new class, do so. But mounts for everyone are a moot point.

I want a big F^&k O&* machine gun so I can go around and shoot all those players who keep repeating the same threads over and over and have an inibility to use the Search function.
Oh, wait, we don't have machine guns in GW either. I'll go play HL2 instead.

I HAVE USED THE SEARCH FEATURE!!!!!!!
I am sorry, but I must of overlooked or mistyped the word. It was an honest mistake.
And btw, I never said anything about them being in PvP. I presonally think even the pets shouldn't be in it.

I just typed in Mounts in Search and this is what it came back with.

Lots of posts. Maybe not all about mounts, but there are plenty there relating to something along those lines.

I'm glad I was asleep, I was in a bad mood earlier. :P
Mounts are sort of a neat "collectable" idea, but well...when I play my monk I'm playing on the lowest graphical settings to keep my speed as close to perfect as possible. In areas like Abbadon's Mouth (which a lot of reflections/animations regardless of graphics level--thanks devs...) I still get incredible choppiness. When I'm grouped with eight people who all have fellblades (animated/reflecting), fiery dragon swords (animated), fire wands and holy rods (animated), chaos axes (ugly as sin), storm bows (animated and straight out of the 80s cartoon Dungeons and Dragons) and fighting enemies who have the same taste in silly weapons and friends who happen to be three-headded dragons barking meteors...well...let's just say I don't want gigantic animated mounts further decreasing my framerate.
